Official Nycfc In The Media Thread 2015

Must read article... definitely not a Chivas US or a Man City lite.
Meh. What the article seems to come down to is that NYCFC is its own thing because Pellegrini doesn't commandeer Kreis's practice. Which nobody ever thought would happen. It did showcase the upside elements of being part of CFG, which no one has ever doubted either, although it was helpful to read an account from a third-party that made it clear and didn't read like a press release.
But they've lied to us about the downsides. They lied about wearing sky blue, and about signing Lampard, and they've never acknowledged or apologized for either one.
Now maybe that's all behind us. I hope so. But I also expect that if it doesn't happen again it will only be because they are not tempted to do so. But they didn't even need to lie about these things. If they admitted from the start that cross-marketing was a major priority, and that Lampard only had some sort of agreement in principle, they'd have basically the same fan base but none of us would be pissed off.
They're not the evil empire, and I have cautious hope for the team. But I trust CFG and NYCFC's front office as much as I trust an insurance company. And nothing in this article changes that.

I love reading your posts. You're always so negative. What brings joy to Mr. Garbowski?

"Soriano brought them into a lecture theater and addressed them all about their importance, how they were their own entity but part of the City family, and the academy being theirs to use whenever they wanted."

"Or as Kreis put it: "I was so very happy that he [Soriano] did that, because I can say that as much as I want, but when the boss stands up and presents that to everybody, it's a completely different message."

Actually, getting that email this afternoon about the STH package -- even though it announced a delay -- gave me a bit of a chill. I'm excited about the team; annoyed with the organization. And I appreciate that they got in front of this and explained the whys and wherefores.
Other things I am much less negative about than the board as a whole include Orlando SC,, Orlando the city, Disney World, and RB. Not that I'm a fan of those (well, I am of WDW), but mostly I just don't feel a need to spend a lot of energy on them.
We all have our faults, and petty annoyances.
And what the hell, this is as good an excuse as any to point out that my LIKES to POSTS ratio is kind of epic.
Cheers (in all sincerity).
PS: I'm presuming you really don't wanna hear about what brings me joy outside the world of soccer, but I could go on....
And on... ;)

You're right, a 1.77 kill/death ratio is pretty impressive (I guess my 1.7 kill/death ratio isn't as epic as yours). I'll give myself till March 8th to dig out of this hole and earn your respect.

Any chance they end up doing YES also? And they simulcast on WFAN like BeInSport does on SiriusXM Radio?

I agree.

I don't understand why they went out of their way to so obviously lie to everyone. It's weird and unnecessary.
