Adam Nemec [Forward]

Even though he hasn't scored yet, he has put himself in position several times. I can remember a few instances in the Orlando match where he was in good position, he just blasted the shot over the goal. He also had the first good scoring chance on Sunday. I think it is just a matter of time before he scores. Plus, almost every time there was a 50/50 ball he won it. Saunders was picking him out on every goal kick. He is a beast to deal with, and I think he is on the receiving end of too much negativity for what he brings to the team.

That said, I love the added speed that Khiry adds to the team and would prefer to see him get the start.

vazquez isnt a striker at palermo though, hes an attacking mid/withdrawn forward... more like Di Michele/ Caracciolo from back in the day... or Amauri/ Miccoli

I get your point but Villa will be further forward than Nemec. No one has mentioned Villa was caught offside 4 times, which with his experience was a shocker.
Anyhow the original point stands. The bigger fella will tend to score less.

No one mentioned it because he scored a goal, and set up the other with a great piece of skill while putting in an MLS player of the Week's performance.

Not to mention that those 4 offsides (1 questionable) it's a foot or two. Credit to the back d line for moving and adjusting to keep him offside

Nemec has missed a couple of shots that he should have put on goal - of that there is no doubt.

But, finishing is only part of what a good striker needs to do. Another part (and perhaps more important) is putting yourself into position to receive the ball in dangerous situations. He's doing that (more complicated) job just fine. He's winning balls in the air, finding open spots on the field, making runs at the right time. If he were failing to get shots, to me, that would be a bigger concern. He has to go a lot longer than this without netting one before I will be concerned.

Kind of agree with what you're saying, but there is no way that getting into good positions is more important for a striker than finishing. A striker that gets 3 shots but 1 or 2 goals is better than a striker that takes 9 shots and gets 0 or 1 goals.

That's true. I guess I would say that where strikers fail, it's more often because they fail to get the ball in scoring position than because they fail to put it in the net from a good spot.

Honestly carnt make my mind up about him
Points against.couldn't hit a cows are with a banjo
Points for .a tryer .puts himself .brings others into the game.
Progress report .improving each minute on the pitch
Conclusion. Give him more game time see how he goes .

There have been 2 games played in the league and I believe there was a big improvement by Nemec from the 1st to the 2nd game. He linked up better with Villa and was a good outlet for the team. I am sure JK will be very happy what he has contributed so far.

We need to give the Villa/Nemec partnership a good 8 games to see how it develops.

Liked his effort in winning the ball and some good linkup play with Villa but throughout the match i kept wondering why our 6ft+ stricker was never in the box when the ball was out wide! He needs to play to his strengths which i'm sorry to say isn't clinical finishing, lets hope he can head the ball but he didn't get into position to do so.

Are we going to lose him for a few games when he gets called up by the Slovakia National Team for EURO qualifying?
