The only positive out of this is that we can still be the ones to win it first.
They are investing in academies but maybe coaches/teams aren't putting that much stock in it because chances are we're completely outgunned in the later stages which shouldn't even be a thing.
I don't buy the depth argument that some, including Alejandro bedoya, are making. Montreal has played only four league games this year. They had their full team available and rested. MLS just isn't close to LigaMX.

Montreal, the worse team in MLS by far, really never had a chance. It was only luck and circumstance that allowed them to get that far.I don't get it

So yes Montreal can't really compete with LigaMX but other MLS clubs can.
I'm not sure going forward teams that haven't taken it seriously will, but yes I do think that many mls teams see it as a pain and not priority. Sort how Seattle takes the USOC seriously but many other mls clubs don't.what say you on the "rumors" circulating that MLS owners will take the tournament more seriously in the next edition? so are they saying it hasnt been taken seriously up to now?
I don't understand why many owners don't take these kinds of things seriously. Gracias.
i assume in august, like last yearWhen do the group stage matches actually begin?
If we want MLS teams and fans to care about this tournament they mighty actually have to advertise and have the dates for their matches released like the UEFA champions league. I realize that the play isn't close to that level, but the marketing, passion of the fans, the clubs, and the players could certainly be there. When do the group stage matches actually begin?
