MLS Stadium Update

So here's a new twist. The San Diego Chargers are moving to LA and will temporarily play at the StubHub Center as secondary tenants to the Galaxy. I don't think anyone ever expected an MLS/NFL share where soccer was the primary purpose of the venue and the stadium holds 30k max.

Could you imagine we build a 45,000 capacity SSS and the Jets ask us to use it too? Let them worry about football within our soccer sight lines.

Hmm, if NYCFC builds a stadium like the new White Hart Lane with both grass and a retractable turf field, this could work.

That is going to be really terrible for those in the first few field rows trying to see beyond all those players, coaches and equipment.

they will likely tarp those rows and not sell them, that's what they do for the NFL games in London

Galaxy are loving every min of this.... Not only do they get crazy rent money BUT ALSO MAJOR STADIUM UPGRADES Paid for by the chargers.... win win for the galaxy... especially on the stadium up grade portion of the deal....... trade off they gotta deal with fucked up grass for 2 years... I will take the 2 year grass mess because the trade off is worth it

Football lines

And the grass said what?!?

The grass will be fine and there won't be football lines. They will be doing the same thing that MLSE did with the TFC and Argos field share except with a lot more money.

Not worried about lines. But 300lb players digging their cleats into the turf will tear it up every game.

Atlanta President told AJC yesterday that United have sold more than 27,000 season tickets. May cap the number at 30k as there are still 5 weeks to go.

Interesting tidbit.

A few thoughts:

1. They have their facts wrong New Jersey, not New York has been trying to sell the rights. It's Harrison who owns the building, they are situated in the great state of New Jersey.

2. Silva was hired. Please name it NASL stadium or maybe Monster Stadium, something to troll them.

3. Who wants to buy the naming rights to a venue that's in the middle of nowhere and empty all the time?

Prudential?

It's going to be interesting though based on the agreement of the naming rights, what parts of the "Red Bull" will be removed from the stadium. The logo in the seats?
