If game 1 was an indication that all is lost:
It is because we have 0 DPs who can deliver what Maxi did for us. A true field general.

If game 1 was an indication that this looks better than last year:
It is that we played well despite being on the road on a funky surface with a core of offensive players who are still very much getting to know each other.

Can't wait to revisit in 5 more days.

Not having someone with the game management skills that Maxi has is our biggest problem right now.

Guys like Fernandez, Ojeda, and Jovan would never have come into the league in 2019.

What are you basing that on? Almiron came in 2017, Barco 2018, to name a few. Even looking internally Jovan is a similar price and age as Magno was when we signed him 4 years ago (with less professional experience than Magno as well). Certainly, signings like this are more frequent now across the league with the U-22 initiative but I'd say we are getting these guys because the money is now there to get more of them not because there has been some shift in mindset internationally about the league.
