Lampard Reaction

Couldn't here any boos from my area - great reception and when he got the ball he received a great cheer too!
I sat just behind the dugout and we were singing 'super frank' to which he applauded us!

He also cheered when the penalty went in and ran to come on : )

I got two videos up on my Instagram if any one wants to take a look from our area

I was behind the goal opposite the Third Rail and there were a smattering of boos, but no more than that. I'm glad because I didn't think he should be booed for the way the transfer went down. Now booing him for being invisible on the pitch is a whole different matter...

I'll own up to it: I booed his ass at halftime when he came across the field and again when he came on. Then later when he made some poor touches/passes I yelled at him to earn his $6 million. I'm done booing him but I'll continue to ride him for any poor performances because he gets no benefit of the doubt from me. Despite always saying the right thing like the fake arrogant self-important prick that he is, his conduct made it clear over the past year that this club is an after thought to him. I know the money is important to him though and he should have to earn it on the pitch. To be clear, I hope he shuts my mouth by performing well over the remainder of his contract.

Kudos to HoO for that great banner. I was clueless about its meaning at first but after reading up on the Anchorman I appreciate its cleverness. I also checked out Urban Dictionary's meaning of lamp so for me it has become the gift that keeps on giving. Love that YES zoomed in on it.

I guess the first two goals where his fault too? As usual you are ridiculous.

No those were Kreis's fault for not bothering to play the best team he had available.

Upon watching the game again, stone cold sober with my analyist glasses on. Frank was played out of posistion, he needs to play higher up the field and be able to make runs near the box. Lampard still possesses a lethal leg, let him use it.

While I definitely agree with you on where to play Lampard I'm going to give the Montreal game a pass on that. I think he was brought on for 20 minutes just to get past the "he's not played" situation. He's played now, he'll get in better and better shape after a few matches, and hopefully he'll play where he belongs, gel with the team, and score goals.

And we were rewarded with a stellar performance by him and a win.

Oh wait.

61% passing at a time in the game when we desperately needed to keep possession and create chances. Hopefully it was rust but Frank's debut performance was horribly unimpressive compared to Pirlo's. I will give him a few more games to settle in before passing judgement but their was a lot not to like from the first showing. He played way too deep and kept trying horrible long ball passes that went no where. He also did a lot of yelling and directing of his teammates. I get it he;s supposed to be this amazing leader but how about you earn your keep a bit before you start telling people what to do.

i am willing to give him benefit of doubt...look what he did for Man City last season. The guy has talent/skills, just need to settle in and get fit. i actually saw the potential lethalness in the few successful passes he had. The US players were afraid to make such passes at such speed at high up positions - he did without hesitation. regardless of last game, he will be a mild (or great) value addition to the team. Here is one who deserves benefit of doubt, unlike our fearless/clueless coach.

Was he yelling at his teammates to do certain things? Or was he communicating with them? I really don't know as I was way too hammered to be able to really pass judgement on his performance during the game.

I just know from previously playing many different organized team sports, that it may look like "yelling at someone" from those watching from the sidelines/TV, but it may just be communication, where opponents are, gaps to fill, etc.

Not saying you're wrong, just something to consider.

The man has more then earned the right to lead people on the pitch.

Pirlo's debut was way more impressive but two points. 1 Pirlo had more time on the pitch a good chunk of a half Lampard's was a brief cameo. 2 Pirlo was not very good this game in 90 minutes. I love the guy but let's be fair massive prejudice going on here if people are getting all over Frank for a bad 20 minutes and not admitting that Pirlo was poor Saturday.
