I need to graduate from my expectation that regardless of the opponent we will win every game at home and punt points every game on the road. I need Dome to change that presumption this week.

ngl, what's so bad about a knockout game? Seems over the past few years that the first round bye has actually made it harder for us in the first leg of the semis. Especially 3rd seed gives us Yankee Stadium, as well.
That being said, I'm still looking at shield contention for us.

I think you mean Cincy but is this confirmed that they’re giving up all triple-fixture schedules next year or just an assumption? I could see them doing something imbalanced to maintain 3 games against derby opponents

1 game against each West team = 12 games
2 games against other 11 East teams = 22 games
12+22=34

No third games are possible, unless you take them from elsewhere or lengthen the schedule.

Yeah the math is clear I was just curious if he had heard something on the record. Cutting everyone’s derby and evening them out with 1 or 2 matches against Cincinnati I would assume to be a negative on home attendance numbers for most clubs so I could see them doing something irregular.

I'm pretty sure there has been no announcement. I take your point about derby attendance, but I'm not sure it's worth the complications. First, some teams lack a true rival. Others share them. For example, arguably we, DC and Philly would all want it to be the Red Bulls. It's weird to think how that is true, but it is. If we win that tussle, and DC gets Philly, well...

Also, isn't there a way for them to use this money to develop local talent? The fund is nearly $80 million dollars. Just leave it out there as an open bounty for independent, free academies if they develop players with enough quality.

Why develop US players that have lower value when you can be the middle man selling on South American talent for a nice ROI

people dont say that anymore i think. at least i have not seen much of it after first year. if anyone is saying it its probably the older NJ crowd who were probably around from the early years where it was more of a rivalry. younger ones i think do think its us.

two derbies a year ( home and home) is fine by all accounts. plus we most likely play that extra third game in US open cup anyway
