Expansion Rumors Megathread

Marlins Park isn’t a long term solution. With all due respect, watching soccer played in Yankee Stadium hurts my eyes.

I’m sure it’s more enjoyable watching it live with crowd atmosphere but damn it’s so brutal on TV.

But just think of the goal celebrations!

Perhaps not. But, then again, they aren't the Yankees.

That's a shot from the one big soccer match they hosted there, which was a friendly between Nigeria and Venezuela.

i assume that was during baseball off season,

i dont know i always felt it was pitchers superstition etc of the mound and how they dont like it being touched much during season. i dont know how USL teams do it if they remove it or not, although those are minor league baseball parks

There may be valid reasons for not removing the mound - something like it's hard to reconstruct with the clay packed appropriately tight. I don't honestly know, but I don't trust that the Yankees really do everything they could to make this easy for us.

Don't mess with our HR art. The LeBatard show once asked if there was ever something that represented a city or team, where the locals hated it but would not want it gone cause it was theirs (when talking about this structure). The response was "Pitbull".

The Commission has voted 3-2 in favor of the ballot measures.

The public will decide in November whether to pass the agreement for the Miami Freedom Park.

Then, if the public votes yes, it goes back to the Commission where a of the 5 Commissioners need to be in favor of the lease agreement.

Come on, just announce it already. The fact that Miami is coming before Phoenix is absolutely ridiculous. Why can't MLS just add Cincinnati, Nashville, and Phoenix all together? Why do they have to "give it a few years"? Is there some financial reason, or something logistic about it? Or are they just trying to make it more "dramatic" and $$?

Every expansion team requires ~30 players to be signed. Four new teams requires 120 players, so unless you want to dilute the talent MLS has, *you have* to space out the expansion.

wait... are we about to have purple & pink in florida?
also.. Pink? How many teams do a light pink like that? o.o
I've seen like Hamburg/Hertha Berlin's away kits that are a hot pink... but as a first color that might be a bit strange... Or is it just me?

On Twitter there's a raging debate on whether that bird is an egret, heron or crane. South Floridians seem split between egret and heron while the rest of the world, which is probably the least reliable, thinks it's a crane.

Can't wait for the first Pigeon/Egret matchup.*

Now just waiting for Fred to be Fred.
