Sports club stats has it at 89% Chelsea, which I think is closer to accurate, if still low.

Make no mistake about it, though. I would love for someone to start making Chelsea look over their shoulder.

We're 8 points behind and play them again which we can then cut to 5.
Before we play them our two previous are Liverpool and arsenal. HAVE to get points there and expect Chelsea to drop points against . Let's say we get 4/6 and they get 3/6 (Man U/Everton) and now we're 4 behind. Following liv/ars/chel we have a very easy remainder of the season.
Can win 7 out of 8. only challenge is the rescheduled match with United.
They definitely have an easier close than we do. So it'll take us nearly winning out to win it.

In total, your title challenge basically demands you get consecutive wins over 3 of the top 5 teams in the table. Not impossible, but I haven't seen anything that makes me believe it likely.

Assume MC survive that gauntlet unbeaten and undrawn. Chelsea would still have to draw 3x or lose 2x while MC win 3x for you to pass them. And you still have a matchup with a United team that hasn't lost in ages, as well.

The real world issue is even more daunting. That being, Chelsea are just really hard to beat. Draws vs. them are difficult, but doable. Losses are like unicorns. Oh, and did I mention they don't have European matches to worry with?

As much as I'd love it for selfish reasons, I just don't see it as anything but fantasy at this point. Thats fine. That's what we do as fans. But I propose we revisit the coronation talks after MC fell that three headed monster you mentioned.

Realistically the only way City still have a chance is for a collapse of their nearest rivals along the lines of what happened in both 2012 and 2014. It's highly improbable and I'd be happy with just keeping up a strong battle to finish 2nd.

However, this kind of collapse is exactly what happened in both 2012 and 2014, so perhaps I shouldn't entirely rule it out...

Read that Everton are already jumping aboard this train with them . Uggh. As you said walking billboards . I'm sure this is the way lots of people felt when shirt sponsorship started in general but I don't like it.

Lol you're right about the entire back line. Sagna/zaba are old and should be replaced. They need to move on from Kompany and Otamendi is likely to leave this off season.
Can't depend on Kolarov at LB anymore as he'll be 32 next year as well. Clichy also turns 32.
So pep has free reign to build his defense as he wants it to be this summer.
I think we likely sell Aguero and Kompany to offset some costs and make it all look good for FFP. But with the other sponsorship deal and us actually being profitable now they can splash a lot of cash this year and not have to worry much at all about it.
