Maxi can play right back for all i care if we get James. If we dont have yangel next year, this isnt an issue.

The rumor is bullshit, but this is not a reason to not take a guy like Rodriguez.
I agree it's a crazy long shot but at this point he's in a somewhat similar position to Gio when he came. Mid 20s player struggling to get min on a champions league final contender level team, Juve for Gio and RM+BM for James. Granted you could argue James had a lot more hype surrounding him than Gio ever did, RM+BM also paid huge transfer fees for him but in the end he's in about the same position as Gio was a Juve at this point. So... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ we can dream.
Gio had a ton of hype back then. If you didn’t follow serie A at the time you wouldn’t know it though. And the Internet then wasn’t exactly what it is now.
I agree Gio was hyped but only within Serie A but think that kind of validates my point that James had considerably more hype around him. Id' say most people are very aware of who James is regardless of what league they follow.
You guys saying “Gio” had me so confused. I’d call James more in line with Gio Dos Santos.
As an aside, allow me to vent:
Giovinco was older. And no, I don’t want to call him Gio. Do you say that as “Jo” when you write it? Doesn’t make sense. Seba is better for him than Gio.
I have no excuse other than complete laziness on my part.
Considering what Kaka was getting, the figures don't seem too far apart at face value. James salary at RM (which BM is paying in full) seems to have been 8 million euros for the first year and 8.2 for the second year of the 2 year loan. However, BM is also apparently paying 5 or 6 million per year for the privilege of getting him on loan, and has a non-obligatory chance to buy James at the end of the loan for 40M.
The figures are still way above what MLS pays, the transfer more than the yearly salary. But we also have to factor in that most starts seem to be coming to MLS either late in their careers, or for a substantial premium compared to what they were being offered in Europe (Giovinco, Martinez, both Dos Santos, etc). So you would probably have to offer James something in the neighborhood of 10 to 12M per year in salary, plus transfer, etc.

Transfer fee aside Lampard Salary + Pirlo Salary - Maxi Salary = ~$11M. If the club is willing to continue to spend at a similar rate as seasons 1 and 2 the $ for the salary is there. Granted that does nothing for the transfer fee and it seems the early +$18M DP spend was a marketing stunt that CFG has no intention of continuing.
I don't believe that is the intention, but I also don't think they expected to get nothing out of Pirlo this year or play two home games on the road. Maybe they are OK amending their plans in light of that. I can only hope so

Thoughts on Zlatko Junuzovic? I haven't really seen him play to be honest, but he's 30, recently retired from National Team duty, and is on an expiring contract. Accounts I've read have him as a team leader and two-way player as an attacking midfielder.
All that I need to know is that he's my best player in my Bremen career mode. Sign me up.
