Great jersey.

I have question: Would you guys choose an authentic or replica?

Do authentic adidas jersey run a tighter fit than other authentic? like puma's?

Yes they do. It's a performance fit. I will only do authentic. Better fit, better material, MLS patches.

I like the jersey since it has a different design and that orange makes in different. Yes the stripes are weird but still they went for something different.

I would like to see how the back orange nycfc logo looks like in person, I really liked that detail.

Adidas authentics definitely run small. Wear a size LARGER than you normally would.

I think that the authentic is worth the extra money compared to the replica. You get the MLS badges, a better material and the detail on the back of the neck. It's just a lot cleaner.

I find that the Adidas replicas run a size small like the Nike's -- I am an XL for every top I own, but an XXL for Adidas and Nike replicas.

Guess that means XXL guys like me are SOL. Maybe I'll have to hold off buying online and wait until they hit Modells, so I can check them out in person.

Which jersey is better to buy, the Authentic or the Replica. I've never bought or worn a soccer jersey, and I would love to buy this one.

I mentioned the differences above. Basically the Authentic has a performance/tighter fit, uses better materials, and includes the MLS patches on the sleeves. Authentic all the way for me.

My only thing about the leak is this.... If they didn't plan on releasing the jerseys until 2015, lots of people on the fence would come to terms with the home and buy it anyway. So why give them a jersey they potentially like more and only buy one.

If they release it in early 2015 and its this sexy, now you're buying two jerseys. Maybe they don't think they'll lose money since so many preorders are sold out already, but my gut is they didn't want anyone seeing the jersey for fear of people only buying one instead of two.
I guess this may have been triggered by the shitstorm after the reveal of the home kit, which I guess they were not anticipating in that intensity. They realized the cost of disgruntled "early adopters" at this crucial stage before the inaugural season is greater than the potential intake of jersey sales. In other words, they rate us fans very highly and are eager and proactive to keep us all smiles. Top notch FO! :)

Oh my lawd! Those jerseys are awesome!

Now this is something to get excited about!

The fact that NYCFC and Orlando had their jerseys leaked makes me think that this was a screwup on EA's part.
I agree with drainyoo that the orange neck point looks strange as a separate piece. I think it would look cleaner as an overlay.
I like the idea of the 5 stripes for the 5 boroughs but I think that thinner would have been better since they currently compete with the Adidas shoulder stripes. I hope that they play around with that element of the design from year to year. That could be a really fun part of the design in years to come.

I was digging around for real pictures of this jersey's style elements, and discovered one of Valencia's kits for next season. Why isn't this our third???

Well that at least explains the width of the stripes. It's a design element Adidas has used before.

Also I posted that kit or a similar one on /r/nycfc awhile back and the general response was a lot of hate on the orange--too much orange, too much like the Mets, why the fuck would you use orange?, etc.

Are they not aware of the flag of their own city?

For me, it's not really the amount of orange, but the combination of orange and sky blue. It just looks awful. White, navy and black all look pretty good with orange. Just not light blue.

I've gotten replicas and been totally fine with them. Obviously there are some differences but to me a few more patches isn't worth the extra money (then again, I find jerseys to be way too expensive and always wait until the end of the year blowouts to swoop in and get the ones I like at about $50 which is still expensive but at least manageable)
