Seriously if TR doesn't set up Capos or section leaders we should just do it ourselves as members of SG groups.

We also just need TR and other SG's to put out a statment saying racists/sexist/homophobic chants or actoins wills not be tolerated. Then we need to tell security who they are (multiple people should approach security for each incident), and get them kicked out. If they're not kicked out we should chant those jerks down.

But Capo/section leader talk should probably be it's own thread.

Salute to Oscar. Spoke with him last night at Dugout and he is not with any of this bullshit. Glad to see that there is one group that is never included in these conversations. Respect.

I sit far enough away, Section 130, that I didn't hear the racist chants, etc. What I didn't like was the chanting over each other. As soon as one section started a chant, another would drown them out with a different chant instead of joining in.

When the chants were unified, they sounded great and that is what we need.
(Of course, there were also chant interruptions from the band in the other bleachers that were annoying as well.)

This must be some application process:

Are you a skinhead (check one): Y( ) N ( )
Are you a neo-nazi (check one): Y( ) N ( )
Are you a racist (check one): Y( ) N ( )

If you selected No to each of these questions, please proceed with the rest of the application.

Ha! We're a small group. You need to be refered in or meet us first and hang out. If a blatant racist showed up, don't think he gets in. And I dont think anyone wants to muddy their reputation be reccomemnding someone like that. Also, if you act that way after becoming a member - you're out.

However, I'm not on the HoO board or anything, so don't ask me much more about the process. But when I joined that much was made clear. I would hope other SGs wouldn't tolerate racism and bigotry as well.

The sheet that was distributed by me specified just that: No racism/sexism/homophobic/discriminatory chants.

I expressed this sentiment on reddit, and I feel it belongs here:

The supporters section sets the tone for the rest of the stadium. I haven't sat there yet, but I have been to the past two matches. You guys might not realize this because you're in the hub of the noise, but when the supporters section gets a chant going together, it spreads. Without you, the stadium is quiet. Individuals can try to get things going, but we are nothing without the noise coming from those bleachers in left center. More than avoiding contentious circumstances within supporters groups, your unity is imperative to the overall experience of the stadium. So get your act together because what you can provide to ALL the fans of NYCFC is way more important than any petty high school crap.

I'm trying so hard!!!

I'm a paying member of TR and I fucks with the bag too. I've bought their merch and when I get a chance I'll join them for a pregame beer. I have no problem supporting a group that's going to give us a great game day atmosphere. Grants TR has lots of improvement to make. This entire situation on home game #2 is absolutely ridiculous. How we going to get to game #17 if we can't handle #2. Like I said the ones in charge better handle this shit. If your around and you hear something call them out. Don't let a few ruin it for everyone.
Yeah I'm with you man

As an outsider looking in what the hell is going on ? Why have different names for your groups .in the UK the supports clubs come from the same area to keep travel expenses down.this whole thing reminds me of the scene in Monty pythons life of Brian, where the judian peoples front want to argue with the popular peoples front for judia .as for the racist shit just get the fuckers thrown out on the night.
I thought you all supported nycfc.

This is unfortunately turning into an ego-stroking contest. I am frustrated with it all.

Was it Third Rail leadership that was making accusations against HoO, or one or two random members?

Regardless, this is another example of why TR needs to get the f**k away from Facebook.

I don't know but my guess would be that just members were involved and not leaders. The leadership of each group need to work together and agree how to handle these situations -- have various members with roles and to call on security when necessary. We can support each other and focus on chants and songs.

Oh come on, stop. Is it so hard to believe that there are bad nycfc fans?
Not at all, I say this because I noticed this thread was linked on Twitter by a red bull fan. How would they know about this thread unless they stalked the forums? One thing I've learned since I started following MLS is that red bull fans will do anything to make NYCFC and it's fans look bad.

I'm sure they're loving every minute of this. Sad that this is even a topic of discussion.

Hey Erwin, It's Steve. We met last night. Your chants sheets did say that! I'm interested in making sure we keep racist jerks from having an opportunity to do this at games.

Let's come up with a few steps that people can take at the game if they hear this and then push it out onto the interwebs.

I've also been talking to some members of the media, that said both racist AND homophobic chants were again coming from season ticket holders in 237. In addition, the Nazi chants (or whatever the hell that's about) has been confirmed to have ZERO connection to ANYONE in Hearts of Oak.

Fuck. The. Bullshit.
Next game take video/pictures and send to club. Simple as that. I'm not believing anything until it's on video. The allegations are ridiculous if you mean to tell me people are singing that stuff and everyone around them puts their head down and tail between their legs. I wouldn't stand for any of that and I'm white. All these pictures and videos uploaded after game of the field and game action but an entire group gets put on blast with no evidence at all?

This isn't directed at TR/HoO or anyone in particular. Just saying that if you call a group out like HoO was called out have something behind it. I know for a fact HoO has female members and for them to sing homophobic and sexist chants and stuff makes me think twice.

Several things:
If people were making fun of 3rd Rail supporters for being sad, well, it ain't gonna be the last time.

Ex-skinhead here. Most NYC skins are antifascist, many are black, latino, etc.. Google it. But there are nazis and assorted scumbags, mostly from the burbs. They need to be shown the door at first appearance. They're a cancer.

Metro had this problem. Also second home match, 1995. Gaggle of AC nazi skins showed up, sieg heiled at us leaving the match. Not condoning what happened, but they left in an ambulance, one ended up in a coma, three supporters were arrested, pressure on NJ prosecutors had it reduced to discons for all three. There's press clipping about it floating around, but ex-Metro folks will remember. What it achieved is that Metro became a no-go-zone for nazis.

These guys WILL show up. They have various fantasies they wanna play out, and links to Euro nazis who have major football ties. Nazi groups have appeared at many MLS teams, notably Chicago in the early 2000s. How you deal with that fact is up to you folks.

Finally: I hate RedBull. They killed my team. But their fans aren't nazis, and won't be responsible for this, so stop saying that. Is stupid.

Tommy

To correct no one from HoO was involved with what i heard. It was 3 males a female and a 16 year old kid who was with them. They made their way to the front of 237 after half time. I didn't think much of it other than they where drunk jerks, and i thought i heard a few racist remarks but most of their chants were in spanish. I definitely saw a guy to the hail hitler salute though (at the time i just thought he was throwing his hand up to balance his drunk self).

as i posted before i was behind this overly intoxicated people, they where at the bottom of 237 right next to 238.

I wasn't paying to much attention as i was watching the game. But now that i've seen the post of the people that were right next to them saying they were being racist and assholes, it made everything very clear.

I'll film them and report them if i see them again.

Really people should do the following:

1) Report them to security
2) Film them
3) Talk to the people around you about what's going on
4) get others to report them to security if security fails to do anything
5) Either chant them out or as a group chant them to leave
