Toronto - Postmatch

Thank god that Altidore is a moron, cause that game probably would have been ugly had he not gotten the red card.

Way to careless on the ball, poor giveaways, looked like the 2015 defense back there

Glad to have Villa back, thought he looked good until he lost his legs. Also nice to see the team didn’t try and force everything through him.

Thank god for Shradi. He’s been off the past couple of games, so glad he looks back on form. That second goal, holy hell

Thought most of the defense, except Tinnerholm, played poorly. Ring also had a bad game. Kept getting beat too high up the field

Sending healing vibes to Sean John...we need him back

I thought we looked good for the first 30 minutes or so, no? Intensity and precision were good. Should have been 3-1 at HT. 3-0 with SJ in goal

Terrible second half. Inexplicable lack of concentration. Very very lucky to get the vital 3 points. Thank fuck for Isi's moment of quality

Thank god for two things:

1. Altidore losing his mind and getting red carded in the tenth minute

2. Isi finishing when no one else on the team could.

Team was complete trash (Villa’s nicely taken goal aside - Villa was gassed at halftime). Defense (including Stuver) should be taken to the woodshed.

Take the three points, will need to be better against PHI and RBNJ

On the plus side, Villa found his scoring touch, Maxi made some outrageous passes that should have qualified as some assist of the week candidates, we got 3 in a game I feared 0, my son made me rewind two separate LionNYC clips multiple times, Isi is ready to start another run, Taty has the confidence to try the bike, TMac’s only contribution was kissing Shradi, Altidore is a moron, Dome’s subs were solid, the derby is going to be sexy, etc. But man was that frustrating.

Taty has the confidence to try the bike,
I really like this kid. He’s only going to get better and is showing signs of being a great signing. He makes good runs off the ball and makes good decisions. I just wish we had players that could make passes to reward them. One of the few players for us that touches the ball and gets me excited. End product isn’t quite there but I thing CFG wants him and we sign him after the loan is up.

I can deal with the shitty finishing, but all the terrible giveaways were just distressing. Literally one minute before the first TOR goal I was thinking "we're doing a lot of lazy possession passing while Toronto closes in. If we're not sharper..."

Anyway, grateful for the three points but that was one of our worst matches in a while.

Anyone find out why Jozy deliberately got himself sent off? What an idiot.

After the foul the commentators were talking about that being borderline yellow and letter of the law and so on and I’m literally screaming RED the second it happened. Why is it so difficult to find people with half a sense to talk football?
After he showed red they both agreed and started talking about how it was wreckless. It’s like both of them were afraid to call it a red because if the ref didn’t show a card they may have looked bad.

His excellent touch to Maxi in Traffic started the sequence that led to the winning goal. Berget also showed well on that without even taking a touch. And Isi buried it. I think there is still more upside here as he settles in but he’s off to a good start.

I noticed that as well. None of them were willing to admit it was a red, then red was given and they were saying that was the obvious clear choice.

Taty looks great. I was unable to watch last week’s game, saw the goal he had, but on the ball he exudes confidence and after only watching 20 or so minutes of him play, I hope we sign him after the loan is up.
