Angelino [Defender]

So did he go on loan to PSV and he’s signed a new MCFC contract, or was he transferred to PSV and MCFC decided they wanted him back?

And 10A at PSV as a defender is pretty damn solid, even in an offensive-minded league.
Nah, seems he signed for PSV outright a year or so ago and this is him being brought back.

That’s really interesting. First that CFG let him go, and now that they’ve decided he warrants being brought back. Is he going to be given a shot at starting or is this simply a squad role that they can use him to satisfy their academy/HG quota for players on the first team?

Actually looks really good so far. His crossing has been superb. Almost came away with 2 assists.
Totally agree, and was just coming here to say exactly that. Played left wing-ish. Also took a yellow for the team. Was good to see him play, hope he can get some match time when it's not a blowout situation.

He had some mistakes but looked more of a fit than Zinchenko. That’s not saying I think Zin is bad but I feel like he holds up the attack at times. Angelino attacked the defense and was able to get some good crosses in. Zinchenko seems to cut the ball back way too often rather than taking on the defender. Then again a heathy Mendy is better than both.

Bumping:

Got good reviews on his performance midweek starting again against the same opponent in the league.

Is he the most recent player from playing in MLS to playing in the Premier League?

Almiron?
He’s certainly grown a lot since leaving NYCFC. Skill wise he’s always had it but intellectually he’s benefited a lot from European top flight football and Pep.

Whoops. Yeah, him. But It doesn't appear Almiron has amounted to much at Newcastle.

It is Newcastle. He’s playing in attack for a team that doesn’t score many goals. Angelino is playing LWB/LW for a team that thrives on creating chances down the wing. Even if he isn’t that great his mistakes or lack of awareness are mitigated by the fact he always has options around him and the opposition is on their heels.

A LOT harder to play Track-Sprint football on the northern English grass fields that are either soaked or frozen than it is on ATL’s plastic time trial surface. Almiron has shown well, but his speed and in spaces passes that Martinez poached don’t work in England.
