You're not the only one to say this, but I don't think it's likely. The holiday is not that big a deal on life in the city. Stay away from 5th Avenue, and don't go into bars, and St. Pat's day will have no effect on you. You'll see a bit more green, and some more public drunkenness, but not in a way that impinges on you.
