I'm excited to see if the excuse that the team was waiting for the agreement proves to be true and we get a few quick signings now to round out the roster before camp is over.
I’m a big believer we need a STRONG backup for Maxi. Whether he is injured or needs a break NYCFC needs someone who can direct, create and finish.let's hope so! i'd love a proven left back. not too confident about our icelandic pop star signing. i'd also love to see a solid backup for maxi. i don't feel like zelalem can be that guy. i see him more as a backup for parks.

derek_villa yoAll I want to know is what we can do with Jesus Medina...
Can we buy him down with TAM now?
Thinking now about the charter flights. We get 8 legs in the regular season - the equivalent of 4 round trips. The CCL games and playoffs are covered separately.
Here are some options for using the charters.
- at LAFC (May 24): this seems obvious, plus we have the Red Bulls at home the following weekend
- at Seattle (June 27): this seems equally obvious, plus this is the first leg in a triple game week
- at San Jose (July 11): also a west coast trip that starts a triple game week
- at Houston (Aug 15): long trip that ends a triple game week
- at Miami (July 18): long trip that ends a triple game week
- at Atlanta (Aug 1): moderate trip against a tough opponent
Interestingly, we don't have 2 away games in a row that are close together - all our consecutive away games are separated by at least 6 days. So, there won't be a chance to use one of the charter legs to travel from one road game to another.
ugh, I didn't even realize that "legs" meant one-way - that's crapThinking now about the charter flights. We get 8 legs in the regular season - the equivalent of 4 round trips. The CCL games and playoffs are covered separately.

If I'm not mistaken, the new rule IS A MINIMUM, not maximum number of legs!Thinking now about the charter flights. We get 8 legs in the regular season - the equivalent of 4 round trips. The CCL games and playoffs are covered separately.

My guess is that it is both minimum and maximum. If I'm not mistaken, the new rule IS A MINIMUM, not maximum number of legs!
Edit: It doesn't say a maximum and also does not directly imply that more than 8 will be allowed so I dunno.
GAM is tradable and Salary Budget is not.

The above is from the MLS website and shows how the various compensation buckets will change over time.
I will be honest - I don't really get why there is a distinction between the salary budget and the additional GAM. Perhaps it has to do with the maximum salary being calculated off of the salary budget.
One interesting thing here is how Discretionary TAM changes. That's a big way for higher spending teams to differentiate themselves, but the degree of potential differentiation will decreases over the length of the contract. In 2020, Discretionary TAM will be 30.4% of the total available roster spending. By 2024, it will be only 18.3%.
If TAM rules remain the same, I think that's a solid no. Will have to crunch the numbers again.
This is a good point. I checked a bit further.Maybe reserve some for league games before/after midweek CCL and USOC matches.

Why would that be in the CBA? That is roster rules related, not collective bargaining agreement related.Says nothing about acquisition costs with DPs explicitly?
extra time radio confirmed MINIMUM of 8 charter flights. Plus you HAVE to use charter for CCL and playoffs. If this team gave a damn they could charter every match. But a team plane. Does our ownership have any experience in that area?
