MLS Officiating: it's shit-tastic!

MLS ref Tori Penso selected to officiate Women's World Cup Final.

She also worked the England Australia semifinal, and it has been claimed the last time a ref worked a semifinal and final in a World Cup was 1934.
The folks who make these assignments are signaling that Penso is among the very very best officials working today anywhere in the world.
USWNT failed, so US referees could fly

This is a great video. Very happy for her and the rest of the crew for this honor (and also to Elfath for his work in the men’s final).

I'm so happy to have PRO referees again calling our matches after the shitshow that was the Leagues Cup
Season 4 Wow GIF by The Office

Quick side note. Rule change to start enforcing the keeper's feet on the line during PKs is one of the best rule changes in recent years.

Remember how far keepers used to come off? And how arbitrary it was for refs to call them on it?

wait you're telling me refs aren't just heartless souls that study the rules all day in order to purposefully get calls wrong?
It's like when you saw a teacher outside of school...these people have lives outside of the soccer field? :p

This is what happens when your union tries to fight for a better deal and the organization goes "okay, so we just won't use your union for now"... this will probably end in a disaster from MLS and after next week's games are all horror shows, MLS will very quickly find a deal with the union. lol.
