The 23rd season of MLs kicks off with MLS Cup champions Toronto FC hosting Columbus Crew.

Looks half empty in Houston. Annoying there’s no English version of this match on Sling tv.

Also Houston with the early lead. Maybe we can gain some early cushion in the CCL race.

4-0 in the 1st half. Who saw that coming? Maybe ATL’s D is worse than we thought.

Watched the second half of Toronto and was surprised at how far back Bradley sat. Am I missing something here or is he always in his own half? Toronto just lacked creativity in the final third and I expected him to push up and provide it but it just didn’t happen.

Haven’t watched, but Parkhurst didn’t start and Larentowicz isn’t a CB and is slow. Add that their D was crap last year and bailed out by their ridiculous scoring rate/forward press, and it’s a recipe for disaster when their front 4 can’t get it going. And maybe That dude they lost/couldn’t resign was more important that many realized.

What song is that the Houston supporters' horn band playing over and over (at least 4 bars of it). I can't place it and I miss Karma Chameleon.

ETA: Never mind. Figured it out. Houston is weird. Few love 80s offbeat new wave music more than me but this combined with Karma is a weak choice.

Of course Orlando gets the first red of the season. They probably enjoy being dicks.

New England got the first red, and then they also got a second red via two yellows, so they’ll be without both starting CB’s next game.

But yeah, Orlando’s Red was fitting and enjoyable to watch.
