I noticed that as well. And not only that, but he's been making some key tackles and plays. Imagine if he wasn't there tonight.
Yeah I was confused about that tooOk, so Murillo goes down injured in the corner, DC has possession, then the ref stops play due to Murillo, which he didn’t need to do as it wasn’t a head injury, and he’s away from the play.
Then play starts back up and RB take a free kick?!? That ends up sending the ball to the other end of the field and not much longer RB scores a goal.
Did I miss something as to why RB didn’t give the ball back to DC? Anyone else see this?
Yeah. Murillo gets hurt while DC had possession. The ref waited until RB got possession to stop play. The confusion is because RB only had possession for 2 seconds and the ref was slow with the whistle. So by the time he blew DC had possession again but in the ref’s mind play stopped as soon as RB gained possession.Ok, so Murillo goes down injured in the corner, DC has possession, then the ref stops play due to Murillo, which he didn’t need to do as it wasn’t a head injury, and he’s away from the play.

Based on the disco pace of decisions, we still don’t know if Matarrita might get more games.Well they have a home game Wednesday vs. Houston and then away vs. Montreal on Saturday.
I guess that makes sense how that happened, but shouldn’t fair play end up with NJ kicking it back to DC?Yeah. Murillo gets hurt while DC had possession. I think play was dead once RB won the ball so they get it back. The slow whistle is irrelevant.I guess that makes sense how that happened, but shouldn’t fair play end up with NJ kicking it back to DC?
Yeah, DC’s reaction confused me.I think play was dead once RB won the ball so they get it back. The whistle delay is irrelevant.
Main issue is look at DC’s reaction. Nobody protested that they didn’t get it.
Ref obviously explained that Murillo was hurt but he let DC keep playing until they lost the ball. Then they understood.Yeah, DC’s reaction confused me.
I guess my point is that nobody stopped playing until the whistle was blown, which is when DC won it back. You could see DC’s reaction when he blew the whistle as they didn’t think it should be stopped, but the lack of protesting the play by RB confused me.
Yeah, if he explained that real time, then I get it. If that explanation to both teams came after the fact, then RB keeping possession seems a bit dishonest IMO.Ref obviously explained that Murillo was hurt but he let DC keep playing until they lost the ball. Then they understood.
Obvious in the sense that it’s the only explanation that fits the evidence. I saw same thing you saw. It seemed odd, including DC’s reaction. This makes sense of it.
When Ben Olsen and Wazza let it go, so should the fans at home.Yeah, if he explained that real time, then I get it. If that explanation to both teams came after the fact, then RB keeping possession seems a bit dishonest IMO.
But then again, DCU didn’t really protest, so idk.

If it's on a tuesday or thursday, I'm in super luck because I don't have school on those days.Welp, who is ready for a weekday playoff match at Yankee Stadium*?
*NYCFC cannot confirm that Yankee Stadium will host this match.
