I think mgarbowski summary above is very well put.I used to belong to a forum that temp-banned anyone who referenced their own likelihood of getting banned in a post.
Admittedly extreme (and not recommending it here since it only makes sense if it's a well known and consistently enforced policy) but . . . its a good policy.
Really appreciate mgarbowski 's nuance around the word doxxing which absolutely is abused.
Etnaman seems alright to me.
One of the norms of this forum that I personally appreciate is that most posts are longer than a few words and use complete sentences. Paying so little attention to that norm was way more irritating to me than differing opinions.
If this seems to contradict what I said last night, well maybe it does.
As it was a home game, I would normally agree, but considering the injuries the team is currently dealing with, both in quality and quantity, I'm not as upset with the loss. Had we lost both games, I would probably feel different, but getting the 3 points vs SKC was a great result.i think we needed to at least pick up a point against portland
Yeah, considering we got the 3 against SKC, we had a decent week. Lets put it this way, over the last week, Chicago had 2 matches and got 4 points, we had 2 matches and got 3, NJ had 2 and got 2.As it was a home game, I would normally agree, but considering the injuries the team is currently dealing with, both in quality and quantity, I'm not as upset with the loss. Biggest thing is that we want to stay with the #2 seed, so we really just need to keep pace with Chicago, and-depending on what they do with their games in hand- Atlanta. Chicago tied at home, so we are still 5 points above them, plus we still have the head to head matchup in Chicago
I think mgarbowski summary above is very well put.
I will chime in here for a quick second and say that I was not surprised by his reactions to the initial post by Etnaman and honestly kinda felt the same way as mgarbowski . And to be clear, part of that is a bit unfair to Etnaman but that sentiment was, IMO, created by the related crew and their posting history.
To be fair, continuing on, I have had no issue with Etnaman and his posts since then.
I love this community that we have here and the discussions that it has brought, and even people I have met in person from it. There are tons of people on here I disagree with, and probably lots of dumb shit I say that people disagree with, but it's always a been mature and civil discussion.
As mgarbowski also noted, that initial back and forth when Bianco first joined really had me going and I put him on Ignore. That was only the second poster I've ever done that for (the other one being that one NYCFC Fan guy, not the regular one here now, who was just going on and on about Kreis to a ridiculous degree). I eventually took him off, mostly because I still found myself reading the "ignored content" because it messed up the flow. I still thought some of the tone from then on was a bit immature, but IMO he turned into a more valuable poster. But this latest ordeal crossed a line. In a very bad way. He may not have intended to have mgarbowski abused, but it was absolutely foreseeable and ridiculous. IMO, it would have been a bit more acceptable had he blacked out the handle, but still not a cool thing to do.
I'm not defending Dkalev's name calling. I find it ridiculous regardless of how stupid someone's comments may be. But he certainly isn't the first or only person to resort to it on this forum.
I'm also not defending Bianco. Even when I agreed with him I thought his tome was abrasive.
But there are one or two other people here who rarely comment on anything except get a rise out of some people, including name calling, and it just slides.
Newbie or not- an asshole is still an asshole.
I didn't think you were referring to me if that's what this clarification was for.To clarify- by "other" I mean veteran members.
TOE TOE TOE !!! You are so funny ! But watch yourself some could take what you say in a different way . So this will be your 2 nd yellow card . The next is Red Sweetie and that Toe of yours shoved up your ass !Dan, how could you ban "Pirloblows" when he's seemingly 100% infallible?
I can't seem to figure out why you still have that avatar ?? Is it like you look at my Andrea's dog and think I'll just talk about him like a Dog and Dog him behind his Back ?? After all you said "He better never step foot on a NYCFC Pitch ever again " Your Words !! Just Wondering here that's all ?? Thanks !So, was Guzman's foul on Maxi a DOGSO red card?
I can't seem to figure it out after reading the last five pages.
Meanwhile, they probably work some dead-end job, play FIFA for 6 hours every night and live with their parents.

One thing I actually noticed about Khiry's game last night that I enjoyed was his holdup play. He was great at receiving long balls, knocking them down and passing out of it. The rest of his game? Not so much.
But I hope Okoli was taking notes while on the bench, because Khiry really did do a great job holding up
On a slightly related topic did it appear to anyone else that Khiry never ran at his top speed against Portland? By his standards he seemed a couple steps slow especially in spots where he typically turns on the jets. Is he still hurt or have all these injuries made him afraid to really hit that top gear?
Khiry always looks most conformable to me when he's doing ST type things like hold up play and chasing balls over the top in space. I'm not sure why he's always played on the wing, he played ST in college and he seems to have none of the important winger skills. Regardless of position I'm not sure he will develop into an MLS player at this point. His regression from the small progress he made last year has been disappointing. At this point if he makes it in the MLS my bet is that it will be as a backup ST for a team that plays a much more long ball counter attacking style than we do.

I saw what you saw last game. My only rationale is that Khiry has great top end speed but awful acceleration. Add to the equation his hesitation making decisions and his foot will never push all the way down on the accelerator. That's why I think, and others have also mentioned, he'd be best as a wingback that doesn't have to think on defense - only react to the man being marked, and on offense his first inclination should always be to bomb forward at top speed to pick up the ball in the space behind the defender.Bruh... I was saying this. He used to flat out torch people last season. Maybe he's put on some muscle and isn't as quick as he used to be?
