Yeah, but other than the turf it's perfect. The crowd is loud, large, and the location is great. Plus it gives them 10 years to start working towards a new stadium if they want to.
Exactly. Probably the best game day atmosphere in MLS. They should have grass, certainly, but it would be ridiculous to move.
Why can't they have grass?
MLS and NFL season overlap is so minimal. They only play 8 games at the stadium and less than that when the MLS season is going on...
I think it's doable. Front load the first half of the season with home games, too.
You could probably get it down to 6 or 7 games that over lap with each other...

Slightly off topic, but as a person who did not grow up playing soccer (or any other sport) on turf, I had no idea of the potential effects on players until I saw that the 2015 Women's World Cup would be played on turf and I heard Alex Morgan of the USWNT team and others were challenging the decision last fall. They withdrew a legal challenge in January without anything to show, unfortunately. Thanks, FIFA
