i won’t even care if there’s no kosher stand at the stadium if it’s Queens. Too many good kosher options in Flushing to waste my time eating a 5/10 hot dog.

If it's in Queens, there will 100% be a kosher stand. Too many jews in long island and queens. (also, I've seen more than enough jews at games to know it's probably justifiable if we get a real non-yankee-stadium stadium)

there's so much good food in queens. if they do a queens stadium, they should just do a couple food halls with all local vendors from flushing, jackson heights, etc. and keep the prices relatively low/comparable to outside the stadium. that'd be amazing.

Wasn't it like Atlanta or Minnesota that proved that lower, local food wins?

Or was it Minnesota with the craft beer and Atlanta with the cheap prices, and Austin with the local food? That's the best I can recall, though I've no idea how their margins actually look on it.

I mean, NY/LI is known for its craft beer and local food, so a win/win would be doing both of those things ;)

yea atlanta has cheap and GOOD food at their stadium. i think austin and nashville also have really good local food at their stadium too, but i don' tknow about prices. i've only heard/seen atlanta prices being fantastic and not a deterrent for bringing families. probably why they can easily pack 70K but also why our 25k stadium won't have cheap prices.

Let's hope there's something to this. I would have preferred the Bronx but I presume this area is still reasonably reachable by public transport .

the area described in the article is to the northeast of citi field. so you can get there the same as you would get to citi field and then walk a little further.

but with the new Apple TV schedule most games are on Shabbos. So you can’t have kosher food those games. Only the weekend nights or cup matches. Then they might say it’s not worth it for 7-10 games a season…

worst case. Just go to main st, pick something up, bring it in. It’ll be better & cheaper than what’s in stadium anyway.

I was just thinking about the article, who is this article for and what is the attended purpose of the article.

It is clearly not for the NYCFC fans (we wouldn't drive the necessary traffic to the Post to justify the article ), nor is it an article placed by the team to float the idea. As our team doesn't do anything for the papers so the papers are not carrying the team's water for a stadium. It is very interesting timing of this article coming out the day about Steve Cohen lobbying for a casino at the same site. Hopefully it is just an article to make sure the mayor makes sure there is affordable housing and the school remain in the project.

I wonder if the Apple suits sat in a room with MLS suits while deal was being cut and said “we’re going to give you $2.5B, but we need your #1 market and champion team to be on the same schedule as everyone else to market this. Can’t do that playing at YS & CF. We’ll need you spend some of that $ we’re giving you to make it happen if you want this deal.” All the sudden temporary stadium on Randall’s Island and SSS by 2025. Hmm….

I live much closer to the Bronx, but the ability to get these dishes on the regular would be okay with me.

Some char siu bao, mooncake, pineapple bun and cream bun. Hell, forget tailgating. I'll organize a walking tour of my favorite stops in downtown flushing before the match. Who's in?
