Trading Football Stocks

While investing in football has basically never been a good idea, I've been considering setting aside a small amount of capital to essentially play a type of fantasy football with stocks.

Does anyone have any experience trading football stocks? Any tips on good sources of information about such things as wages to income ratio for teams?

There is little correlation between on-field and stock success. Not one of the 5 publicly traded football teams I can think of (Roma, Man U, Juventus, Dortmund or Lazio) has been a good performer and, in fact, all but MANU have been long-term disasters.

These teams go public for the benefit of the owners, who generally load them up with an unsustainable amount of debt to pay themselves large dividends. Stay away!
