i liked the phone version a few years back when commuting. didn’t really care for graphics on my phone screen and i could pick it up anywhere.
It's great if you like managing without actually playing games. If you like just the basic stuff, get the lite versions or mobile version.. If you really want the nitty gritty, get the full version (I prefer full version tbh). Very time consuming. I stopped playing mainly bc it takes so long and drains time... but if you take into account "I will only play X number of games per day/week", then you can properly pace yourself.
Funny I just bought it on the switch sunday. Played it for a day and I'm bored with it. And I like these types of games.
I don't know if the switch version is just poor but everything felt like a chore. I much prefer the manager mode on Fifa, but i won't get involved with that. No matter what club i pick it always ends with maxed out team, maxed out budget, maxed out youth program. I thought maybe FM was going to be more of a challenge, and i suppose it is cause I didn't get championships every year, but the real challenge was navigating clunky interface.
Also Medhina was becoming a stud player on my team, so i knew it was broken.
Think ill finish my breath of the wild save game from 2 years ago.... only got 10 hrs in and abandoned it..... Im a cranky old man now, games don't appeal to me anymore

you have to finish BOTW! If you’re not feeling the story, just walk around, ride a horse, climb a mountain. It’s beautiful. And if you get far enough shield boarding on the NW slopes is loads of fun.
I'm a big zelda fan from OOT and MM when i was a kid, but I've really fallen off. Don't think i finished the cell shaded one (wind waker?) or twilight princess. I wasn't even all that excited for BOTW, i got it for my wife. She was like last time i was pregnant (first marriage) i stayed home and played zelda all day and I was like YES! lets do that! Plan didn't work (yet!) and she finished the game. Her (our?) kid has had the switch in his room ever since. I find it every so often and play for like an hour or two but I never get sucked in. I got time now so im trying to give it a go again. But I'm super annoyed with the weapon breaking function and always needing to eat food...... its a freaking grind sometimes. Hopefully i get better gear or something and it stops cause I don't enjoy that.
I don't know if you ever played No Man's Sky..... like that game is super up my alley with the resource collecting and leveling up...... but gdamn having to recharge like 3 different things on my space suit every 5 minutes...... what a freakin drag. i've deleted and reinstalled that game so many times cause it drives me nuts. Its the same way i feel about the weapons breaking in BOTW.
FM (full version, not mobile or Switch) is a total time sink. It is micromanaging your team on the most granular level you could possibly want.
But all the games are simmed. You can make tactical changes during the match, but it's really all about preparing your team for the match.

I tried it during the free trial period But did not pony up to continue mostly because I got a bit addicted and realized what a time sucker it was going to be in my life. I mean, I probably would have stopped the addictive behavior after managing a “season”. I was managing NYCFC and it felt oddly real at times although Keaton Parks was way better in FM than in real life. I’m sort of dying to try and finish the campaign as I think I had NYCFC in second place and in good form.
