Lampard still follows NYCFC as much as he can – and also gets back to the Big Apple whenever he can with his wife Christine.

"I do watch them [on TV] – but unfortunately it can be quite late at night so I catch up the following morning," the 39-year-old said. "We fell in love with New York, it's almost become something of a second home. We've been back twice since and we'll go again before Christmas. We love it."

Feel like an assistant coaching role would probably be a good thing for him before jumping into the spotlight.

True, but with a League One team, he can probably jump right in and it won't be too different from PV running the MCFC youth outfit.

I have a feeling he's gonna be a mediocre manager. Overly confident and rather conservative. Probably a solid motivator though. Hard working. Impressions gleaned from his book.

It could be very challenging for him if his players can't implement his instructions because they don't have the natural ability he and his former Chelsea teammates had. He'd be best to remember the tactics/skills that his NYCFC '15 teammates were able to grasp and not try anything more complicated.

He's the ghost that continues to haunt the forums.
