Tried to use the web for the first time on a new tv - namely ESPN+ for FA Cup games - and live events won’t play. Any troubleshooting tips? The internet is generally working through the tv and my credentials have been accepted, just keeps timing out when I try to watch a live event (with an error message to try again later). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are you using the TV's built-in software. My experience is those are usually crap and you need to spend on a Fire Stick, or Roku or Apple TV. And if you're already using one of them than the TV probably has nothing to do with timing out.

ETA: you just answered my question. My advice stands.

Yeah it’s just the prompt from the Samsung remote. Thanks guys.

I had a lot of trouble getting the Man City match to play on my Apple TV earlier today. Had to reboot it to get it to play the match, although other things on ESPN would play just fine. Was kind of odd. I suspected it needed an update or maybe had just done one and was having trouble with it.

So basically I'm going with my standard IT question: have you unplugged it and plugged it back in?

Thanks much for the reply, I will do that next time. Watched on a tablet today and given the performance, I am glad I didn’t see it on a bigger screen.

Well hey, this thread is only for talking about your TV. You wanna talk about the match? That's a *different* thread!

Easiest thing to do is plug an HDMI cord into your tv from your laptop and you can surf the web and watch live video.
I do it all the time for champions league matches and City matches that aren’t now on tv. Even NYCFC since I’m down in FL.

Thats what I do for movies and sports. I have chrome remote desktop on my phone and I'm set.

Do you work for Spectrum’s help center?

JayH JayH do you want an actual answer?

If you do, based upon what you’ve described, it’s likely that you were accessing ESPN+ from a tv browser. As such, it almost certainly doesn’t support their player format. It would load for forever because it can never play it.

I know this because I’ve seen it trying to stream from (questionable legality) internet sources that don’t have AppleTV or Samsung apps.

The tv browser likely doesn’t support flash or any video playback for that matter.
