1 Year of Statistical Data

I would have never guessed that there were 36 other people from Mamaroneck on this site. WHO ARE YOU!?

Edit: Thanks NYCFC_Dan for this amazing site (even if it's sucking chunks out of my life), I hope that this site stays up as long as we have a team!

You mentioned a witch hunt and then..... Somebody let the sarcasm fly way over their head.....

You are like the biggest keyed-in super fan there is (i.e. The most devoted type of fan relaying tips and rumors and rallying the collective NYCFC Twitter fan base.) in the world of fandom, that's the last person anybody would ever suspect to be a mole. Hence the possibility of a long con being played (cue the sarcasm).

Angleton was the long-time counter-intelligence guru/head at the CIA that was positive there was a long-time Soviet mole in the Agency and spent his career working to prove it even though others thought he was nuts with his theory. Lots written about him.

No offense intended.... Although your defensive posture would be a mole's M.O. to protest greatly to deflect the search....
Oh I know. I was just super bored at work yesterday.

That is an exceptional bounce rate. As someone who does some PPC marketing, we shoot for anything in the 25%-40% rate. I get that an NYCFC forum is a more specific search, but sub 25% is still phenomenal.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "bounce rate"?

Yeah I'm VERY happy with that number as well!
Also the high page views/time per visit but I also attribute that to it being a forum so if you're reading you have to spend more time/view more pages.

Or you leave the webpage window open and and head out to do errands for the day.....

hehehe, what's the going rate Ads pay per site page click? I alone am probably keeping the server running for a quarter of each day.
Uhm I think only 20% of the page views are seeing ads. For example yesterday we had 10k page views and 2k ad views. Meaning the majority of our active users are donors and don't see the ads. And we make $.20 per day on average lol.
But the Donor membership is what really helps out. Hosting is paid for through the year and then some. Couldn't be more thankful.

So ads only contribute about $73/year?

I believe I turned the ads on sometime in December. Next month will be our first payout ($100 threshold). But $45 of that is from when we first used ads (well over a year ago) and I can't recall for how long. So it took 3-4 months to earn an additional $55. The issue is that the content (soccer/MLS/NYCFC) isn't very marketable right now. So you don't have advertisers buying space for that market. If they are they're paying VERY little since there isn't competition (talking as low as .02 a click).

Asking for a friend: what you're saying is NYCFC Forums will begin to roll out next week daily TMZ-like material and scantly clad co-eds only sporting soccer jerseys so as to appease the current.... err..... hit a new demographic of visitors?

Haha exactly what I'm saying. Honestly I think when soccer really makes it here in the US you'll see more advertisers pushing for those spots but right now it doesn't make sense for them to bid high.

Why are you looking for content specific ads? My understanding is that a system like Google Ad Words enables Google to place ads based on the users, rather than the page content. That's why if you go looking for new shoes, suddenly half the websites you visit are miraculously advertising the shoes you just looked at. My understanding is this also pays better with lower hassle.

As an aside, I LOVE that I can make a donation and avoid the ads altogether.

We've already tracked down the attorneys, the accountants, the doctors, those in real estate/architecture; can someone in advertising help NYCFC_Dan figure out how to make a buck here???

Lol it's all good man. Everything that comes in here goes right back out in form of giveaways or upgrades.
And FootyLovin i believe they're set to targeted ads because when they weren't the majority of ads were for fashion crap.
