2025 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs

i've just tuned in and have only seen about 5 minutes, but this has gotta be the ugliest game of soccer i've seen in awhile. being on a field with the football lines makes it look that much worse.

Minn knows how to muck up a game. I respect how good they are at what they do, but it is hard to watch.

Multiple rooting interests here:

I hate the way Minnesota plays, and Minneapolis in December doesn't sound like fun. Would love to go to San Diego or Vancouver for MLS Cup if we beat Miami.
I'd love for us to go to Vancouver just to battle MĂĽller. He's one of my favorite players ever (and that's saying something considering how much Bayern makes my blood boil.

MLS teams going on deep postseason runs in their inaugural season will never not be wild to me. Really speaks to the idea that there's no such thing as rebuilding years in this league.

(Though San Diego did get lucky with some of their signings blowing up out of nowhere)

Great atmosphere in San Diego tonight -- way louder than the home crowd was in Chester last night.

MLS leadership breathes a collective sigh of relief that the Loons are out. Attractive soccer and goals are back in play for the rest of the playoffs.

Both games of the conference final should be really fun to watch. We are probably going to bunker and counter against Miami, but it'll be a fun tactical matchup and as we've seen all postseason, we can hit on the break with the best of them.

It will be interesting to see how Pascal approaches it. I'm not sure about bunkering, and giving Messi a ton of opportunities to pick us apart is the best approach. Their backline can be shaky in possession, and they've struggled with teams that make their midfield run. Wouldn't be surprised if we run our aggressive counter press with a high line while trusting that Martins and Haak can clean things up when the press gets broken. Try to control possession and make Busquets and De Paul run to cover for the fact that Messi just walks around on defense. Whatever Pascal does, he's earned my trust that it will be the approach that gives us the best chance.

Vancouver vs SD is set up to be wild. Both of those teams play on the front foot and never stop trying to score goals. That one could be wide open from the opening whistle. Muller looked like he picked up a knock at the end of the last match; hopefully, it's minor, and he's at full strength.

There's a good case to be made his only real miss all year was Game 2 vs. Charlotte. And that was a case of running it back after a really good Game 1, so it's pretty understandable.

One thing we can be sure of: he's not going to play scared.
