Hard to know who'll be good and who'll be bad next year, but on paper looks like we have a brutal schedule to start the year and a pretty easy schedule in the 2nd half.
If they're still doing the best-of-3 first round, this would put MLS Cup on December 26/27. The international window would come after Decision Day.
This schedule is also a look at what the new schedule will look at. Season ends in May and we start mid-July -- this is what the schedule in 2027-28 will look like aside from those May games will move to November.
My guess is that without having to pause for any FIFA breaks they will revert to the 2019 single elimination format everyone loved. I think that would end the season December 12 probably. They do have leeway to end later in December since the following season doesn't start until summer 2027, and they can make the mini-season any number of games they want.
That wasn't just well done. That was an extraordinary amount of effort. I don't want my daughter who has been an NYCFC fan since the beginning and just moved to Chicago to switch allegiance to her new home town team. But if she did, I can't say I'd blame her.
Looking to 2026, I’d like to go to LA, VAN, MTL (another game in Canada on my birthday weekend), MIA (at their new stadium), and RSL. Made 15 away day trips in 2025, my most in history. Don’t think I’ll likely reach that again in 2026, but who knows. You always want the last trip to be the best one (if it's MLS Cup away).
