Chanot, Ring and Callens are just ridiculously good they cover so much for us. At this point I'm ready to start advocating that we save the next available DP slot for Ring just in case I never want that guy to leave.
Yes. Let’s throwaway the RSL game and we haven’t even really played that well yet, and we are undefeated. If/once we click, Villa is Villa, guys find their legs, Medina blossoms, and we avoid too many international break injuries, this team would be scary. That game was a hell of a lot of fun. I think it's safe to say that right now those are the two best teams in MLS, and they proved why today. Just tremendous theater.
Can't wait to see those guys in the Bronx -- it'll be a very different game.
Our ability to claw points out of difficult road games under Patrick Vieira is one of the best skills we have. Great, great point.
I call it as I see it, when good or when bad.

I feel like you’re implying I don’t.
I would say I agree, but I watched two seasons worth of embarrassing performances by Josh Saunders. But, yes, he hopefully just lost his starting jobI have no comment other than that was one of the most embarrassing 90 minutes of soccer I’ve seen out of an NYC player from Ben Sweat. He didn’t complete a single forward pass. Anyone still defending the decision to start him over Mata is drunk.
The love fest for ATL was definitely by that FS1 commentator opposite Lalas. The r/mls thread for this match, sorted by Best, is basically just a love-fest between ATL and NYC fans.
Not to pick nits, but you won’t see many atmospheres like that in any “European game”.European game was still on.
I think that's exactly what happens on this team. Players have to earn their spots . Mata had a terrible preseason and that's why he lost the spot. And look what happened, he came back fired up. And this isn't just one game for Sweat, he also had a bad game vs San JoseIf you want to kill a player’s confidence, you do exactly what you’re suggesting. Players cannot be afraid to play and make mistakes. He had a howler. So did Medina. You want to bench Medina too. What if Mata can’t go 90 next week? Draconian decisions like you’re suggesting are counter-productive.
Back to my point, you wanna bench Medina too - that was not a DP performance at all. By your metric he should be filling out a lease to be Lewis’ neighbor.I think that's exactly what happens on this team. Players have to earn their spots . Maybe that's why he got subbed outBack to my point, you wanna bench Medina too - that was not a DP performance at all. By your metric he should be filling out a lease to be Lewis’ neighbor.
Well, it ain’t like Sweat is making hustle mistakes. Half the time, his mistakes are due to his CBA attitude. I didn’t make that nickname up all willynilly.Back to my point, you wanna bench Medina too - that was not a DP performance at all. Medina had an outlier. Sweat has done this the past 3 games.Back to my point, you wanna bench Medina too - that was not a DP performance at all. By your metric he should be filling out a lease to be Lewis’ neighbor.

Outside of a few places and derbies, ATL just does it up right. Good balance of modernity (contrived) and genuine enthusiasm.
They are just a really good organization. Pieces of shit.
Berget is looking comfortable with the team now and that is a very good thing.
