I could see Martinez in White's spot here and potentially Poku where you have Lamps.
Can't argue with either of those.
There is also the possibility that we go 4 in back with Martinez and two CBs, which leaves Pirlo holding down the defensive midfield by himself, but a little less room for Martinez to cover on the wing.
Nice job throwing in the third initial for Mendoza to make me look up his whole name.TT/DV/JSM

Pirlo don't need no defensive help. He gonna break the MLS record for tackles in a game.
What has PV done that makes you think Hernandez will be pulled? In the first three games he has made one change per game. In this game he will be forced to make three changes. I suspect he will keep all others as consistent as possible. I suspect that means our backline will have Martinez and Iraola at LB/RB and Hernandez paired with whoever won the CB sweepstakes this week between Mena, Brillant and White.Nice job throwing in the third initial for Mendoza to make me look up his whole name.
But in seriousness, this is probably right or close to it.
As many have said, a 4-man back line makes sense without Mata to lock everything down. I think we are more likely to see Martinez than Mena, You have 3 regular center backs and I think White plays center and Martinez will be the LB.
I agree with everything else, including Poku's first appearance in 2016.
Well, partly I was going off what NYC24 wrote and just adjusted what most jumped out at me. Hernandez does seem to have PVs favor and we have enough forced changes due to international call ups. If I had to defend this I'd say that maybe it's a courtesy to Puerto Rico since Hernandez is playing for them on Tuesday. You have just lost all of your hard-earned credibility by describing Poku as having speed. Power, yes. Speed......???
Here's what I'd like to see. If Bravo can't play then you throw in Lopez for him. Poku likes to drift inside so he'll have plenty of room to do that and Mendoza and Poku can use their speed to help out Iraola on that side.
McNamara and Villa seem to link up well so I'll keep them together but having Mullins up top gives Pirlo a target to lob balls over the top to pick up on loose balls from David Villa's shots.
Though I don't think we'll see Poku or Johansen start
I also liked how Vanney admitted to being perplexed by our shape against Toronto. We're shaking this league up!It's a long shot, but maybe he's molding Poku into a secret weapon up front and the paint just isn't dry yet.
Other options for the other 9 are Mullins and Mendoza, who they actually gave #9.
So excited just to see how we line up each week. This is fun.
I'm just waiting for the 3-3-4 or the 2-3-5 to roll out. That'll blow some people's minds.I also liked how Vanney admitted to being perplexed by our shape against Toronto. We're shaking this league up!
Reverting the Pyramid.I'm just waiting for the 3-3-4 or the 2-3-5 to roll out. That'll blow some people's minds.
Word. My only concern with PV is that he's trying to be too smart. His subs so far this year have been such contrarian subs. Maybe we won't see Poku until the fans stop chanting his name and reprise an old Vieira chant from his playing days. I'm half expecting that his quote this week about fielding players who haven't seen his field is a massive troll on our Poku-loving fans (not that they don't deserve it)...I'm just waiting for the 3-3-4 or the 2-3-5 to roll out. You don't think he's fast? Yes he's strong but he's also fast, on breakaways he can just blow past people. You have just lost all of your hard-earned credibility by describing Poku as having speed. Power, yes. Speed......???
Now I'm just going to have to think of you as just another serial-tweeter..... [sigh]
Yeah, I think Poku has some fast top-line speed, he just doesn't necessarily accelerate all that quickly. You don't think he's fast? Yes he's strong but he's also fast, on breakaways he can just blow past people.
Not to mention that Pirlo and Poku linked up well last year.
Nope. I think he's incredibly strong with a ridiculously stable center of gravity and balance, but he's not fast in the TT/KS/SM mold of sprinter speed (this also doesn't mean he's Pirlo-brand slow). The deception lies in that defenders stab at & bounce off of him, so while they remain in essentially one "spot" he continues past them creating separation which give the impression that he's accelerating faster than they are.You don't think he's fast? Yes he's strong but he's also fast, on breakaways he can just blow past people.
