I asked Crooks on Twitter if his source lied to him. He said not a lie -- just not properly informed. I'm not impressed with Crooks as a reporter either way. I realize it's not his background or even his real role now, but if he can't do it right he needs to a avoid such statements. Or at least learn to hedge them. Also, a correction and acknowledgment of error (maybe even throw in "I'm sorry") would be nice without being pushed to explain by some rando on Twitter (me).
