In our defense, I think our harshest early judgments are typically targeted at players taking up a DP spot (Martins) or those that took a chunk of TAM/GAM to acquire. If we landed 22-year-old on a cheap loan with a very affordable buyout clause and he was good enough to be consistently starting in under a year I think we'd be a bit more upbeat.

I think British fans are arguably the harshest in the world. There were people saying Haaland couldn't cut it in the EPL after the charity Shield . Also Harry Kane has pretty much been written off after he has a slow start to the season every year. First he was a one season wonder, than a two season wonder... you have a mini slump and you suck now, you get hot again and they call it a come back.
It's also why it's great to see/hear some of their over-the-top reactions following games. Very entertaining in my opinion, partly why they also make for entertaining announcers/commentators. They're definitely not afraid to call out a bad pass or terrible shot when there is one.
Was that a ball being played to Sands by his goalkeeper? If so, totally worth taking that risk and not his fault. He should be praised for pulling off a goal saving challenge.

Some initial twitter observations seem to be good (this is from a USMNT perspective, not Rangers). I did not watch.

Quick glance at follow follow would have me believe Sands played well today in Rangers 2-2 draw with Hibs. Rangers finished with 9 men so naturally people were mostly fixated on complaining about the referee but the few people who mentioned Sands said he was one of the few to have played well.

Supporters really, really dislike the other centerback and consistently pointed out Sands as the only positive today.
Spend the $$$ (or £££) Rangers.
I searched “James Sands” on Twitter and it was almost completely full of Rangers fans saying that Sands was their best player today.

He was MOTM today and he was class against PSV. If he keeps it up the 6m price on him is going to be an absolute steal.
