Don't make fun of Boaty Mcboatface! The internet spoke for him. Professional designers spoke for Juventus. You have to look at the objectives of the creators of both

That is honestly so bad that if I were a Juve supporter I'd probably abandon the club. This has to just be some type of teaser that will quickly be sockdrawed.

Well surely it's a "negative space curve design" that forms a shield, no?

Or perhaps I've simply seen too many Grateful Dead concert posters.

I Think I be one of them !!! I don't get it ?? I see the J obvious ! But the rest WTF?? I figure it's the Black and White Stripes . You Tell Me !

I think that's right. I also think this would work fine as an alternative logo to put on a clothing line and such, keeping their traditional badge for the kit etc.

But one thing I think is odd is the timing of the reveal. It's the middle of a season, and not necessarily a moment when you'd think Juve needs a big boost in the press.
