We had one shot on goal last week and it was a PK and we played a man up for most of the second half.

Edit to expand on this: Nico is our best attacker by a large margin, he will impact the game wherever he plays. The questions isn't is Nico better than Reid or Talles, its is Reid or Talles better at Striker than Ojeda at RW?

I think right now I would rather have Nico and Ojeda on the field rather than Talles and Nico or Reid and Nico. It's not a slam-dunk and I'm open to seeing what Talles & Nico looks like, but right now I think this is our best attack.

Philly is totally putting an asterisk on that game.

What a disasterclass by Penso in that second half. Incredible fightback. What a goal from Ojeda to Tayvon.

The hate that exists between Philly and NYCFC makes these games a true blast. These matchups never disappoint.

Four points in the first two games is a great start.

HOLY SHIT, WE FUCKING WON!

I thought we had periods where we were very fluid with the ball. Very nice to see. At other points, we were too chaotic.

Ojeda, although I wish he was more clinical, had a very good game tonight. Proud of Tayvon for coming back from a poor first half. Reid needs a lot of work. He doesn't hold up the ball well and made poor decisions when working 1v1 against Blake. We still need to sign a striker.

Shit ref.

Also, does that horrible announcer Callum Williams have social media? People need to educate him that it is the Hudson River Derby, not the New York Derby.

I am always happy to get one over Philly. Reid definitely needs to show signs of improvement in the future, but I do think there's a mix of rust and inexperience. If he continues what he's doing and gains the maturity/advice from the seasoned players I really do think he could be very good.

Talles had some bad touches and that worries me.

So much to say about this one. I'm still flying over the fact my man Tayvon scored the winner (so is he — his postgame was pure gold).

I think we've just seen why Seymour hasn't been getting the starts. He's just too green. But it may just be a matter of him getting some minutes and getting thoroughly blooded in battle. Does Pascal chance it going forward?

Drew Baiera is a baller. He's a lot like KOT: smart, with a nonstop motor.

The brief glimpse of Trewin and Parks in the double pivot was intriguing. Will we see the "Kai and Keaton Show" next week?

Talles Magno is much more physical than he's been in the past. We might just hang on to him.

All the regulars showed out today despite being road weary and feeling ragged. We have a good team, very, very close to being a great team. With a healthy Alonso we'd be there already. If we find the right striker/winger to fill that gap, look out.

What a satisfying win. It's been a challenging few weeks for me, but suddenly I feel a whole hell of a lot better. COYBIB!

Good game. We started well and then absorbed a lot of pressure. Especially after getting our goal.

We defended well though and man I was screaming at gray to run harder and stop messing around with the ball. But glad he got that goal. What a gutsy goal it was.

Ojeda had a decent game. 2 shots on goal and an assist. Not bad for him. He definitely needs to improve more though.

Nico was great but seemed to get tired understandably.

Reid did ok. We can't expect a 17 yr old to hold down the #9 like a veteran. I'm sure he got nervous going 1v1 on Blake. He needs more minutes and guidance.

Tallest worked hard with his few minutes. Shame he isn't giving jansen a reason to give him more minutes.

Great win. Even better against Philly in chester.
