Adrian Healey broke the news that MLS will schedule "FIFA breaks" in 2015 to allow for big name players to participate in international friendlies without missing MLS action. This is according to a Reddit post, here:

The reported FIFA break dates are:

08-16 June Official or Friendly Matches
31 August - 08 September Official or Friendly Matches
05-13 October Official or Friendly Matches

That last break could be argued to interfere with playoff pushes, but I think it'll be okay.

While I think this is obviously a good thing for MLS and the right thing to do, it looks like we will only be able to have one home game in June, which really blows. Here is a calender from another Reddit post that charted out possible home dates (the green boxes, with pink boxes as change-over days) for NYCFC:

The FIFA break takes away the June 13 potential home date, leaving four weeks between home dates on May 30 and June 27, then another two week break until July 12.

That's a pretty weak presence in the city right when summer takes hold and kids are out of school. We really need an SSS.

the team is better off playing at home during the summer. think about the TOURISTS with all their money. yea the students will wanna see, but the tourists are where the money is.
tourists come to NY, they would want to see a baseball game AND a soccer game

It might suck for June, but if we're fighting for a playoff and we have the choice of playing without Mix or jozy insert random USMNT player here or playing with them, you'll be thankful for a quieter June.

Unfortunately for now, they can't see a Baseball and Soccer game unless they stay for several days. (Unless of course they want to go see the Mets, but they most likely can see minor-league baseball at home!!!)

i would imagine most tourists stay for 5-8 days

2nd that! And when you gotta chose between goin to the stadium to watch NYC or goin to the bar to watch the nats, you'd also wish they would not play on the same day!

Juan Agudelo has been on a FIFA break for a year.

Oh, you didn't mean playing the video game.

So the Wolves rejected him "because he lacked match fitness." Yeah, he may not like it, but he needs to go to a club he can actually play for and develop while working on the work permit.
