Music and what not ...

Before (yet another) Todd Rundgren show. St George Theater on Staten Island.

Songs in heavy rotation now in my car

Noel Gallagher “Holy Mountain”

The Neighbourhood “You Get Me So High”

Interpol “Hands Away”

Lake Street Dive.

Early last week I stumbled onto this song sitting in my iTunes account. I don't even know how I got it or when. Fell in love and downloaded the band's entire catalogue and it's all I listened to for the last 10 days. Pop, swing, soul, jazz, rock. They can write songs. They have an amazingly full and varied sound for what is a simple jazz trio setup of guitar, drums, upright bass and vocalist. They've been on TV a few times so they're no secret but still not known all over and until recently a secret to me.

Their cover of “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas” was on HEAVY rotation at the 21Architect house over the holidays.

Less bluesy (and less populous) Alabama shakes was my first thought. I'm intrigued.

not bad at all...their albums are available on spotify as well. great chill music.

Highly rec the soundtrack to Atomic Blonde. A smorgasbord of amazing tunes from 1989 wrapped around a Charlize Theron cloak & dagger flick.

Reminds me of my young days in the New York scene of LES and Pre-full gentrification of Williamsburg in late 90's early 2000's

Just saw Steven Wilson this past weekend. Twice. First night from the cheap seats at the back, second night from right near the front. Both stupendous shows. Really good.
