Here is my suggestion for a chant. It is fun and will get the entire stadium involved. It's a take on Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher" (also features in Blues Brothers) but simplified. The chorus would be reminiscent of Celtic's "Come on You Boys in Green" with alternating choruses coming from either side of the stadium. You can get an idea of the melody at by YouTubing “Minnie the Moocher” by Cab Calloway, but I guarantee you all know the melody. Obviously it will be much more up-tempo. Here are the lyrics I jotted down:
NYCFC MARCH!
CHORUS:
Hidey Hidey Hidey Hi
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Hodey odey odey Oh
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Heedey Heedey Heedey Hee
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Hidey Hidey Hidey Ho
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Hey New York, here they come now
They’re our boys donned in blue
Representing the Boroughs
And they’re comin’ after you!
CHORUS
From the Hudson to the Narrows
From the Bronx to Sheepshead Bay
NYCFC is marchin’
All the way to Victory!
CHORUS
NYCFC MARCH!
CHORUS:
Hidey Hidey Hidey Hi
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Hodey odey odey Oh
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Heedey Heedey Heedey Hee
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Hidey Hidey Hidey Ho
(Opposite side of stadium repeat)
Hey New York, here they come now
They’re our boys donned in blue
Representing the Boroughs
And they’re comin’ after you!
CHORUS
From the Hudson to the Narrows
From the Bronx to Sheepshead Bay
NYCFC is marchin’
All the way to Victory!
