Are people happier with our acquisitions so far this season? We do seemed to have moved on quite a few players and brought in more of a South American flavour to our team. For me these type of players are more suitable to the MLS than European players.

Just wondered what others may think.

The quality is better than last year, Mata has been a real find for example, Mikey Lopez and Bravo are solid acquisitions, Harrison will be quality when he returns from injury

Last year signings contain a mixture of decent/top players which the majority of them stayed and players who only got a look because it was a brand new club and they needed the roster filling ie Nemec, also maybe some of the European players thought it be cake walk in the MLS and didn't expect the league to be as competitive

Also they had a year now to gel and with Pirlo and Villa being ex quality international superstars in which they can bring their experience and talent to improve the current team

I agree the signings do seem of a higher quality. Also we have added width and pace by signing Mendoza, Matarrita. Also TT is like a new signing and Shelton is more prominent.

Added to that we have brought in Lopez and Bravo to help in the defensive midfield area.

The team just needs the injuries to clear up and we can begin to have a competitive team that should spur everyone on.

Yes, I have been totally delinquent. Will update this weekend

I am so thankful this is no longer our team... http://nycfcforums.com/index.php?pages/roster/

Edit: Ooops... see that someone beat me to it.
Actually, it's pretty remarkable how much that is still our team. 100% of our front line is on that page. Don't know why Pirlo is missing. Saunders, Hernandez and RJ/Iraola. Our current preferred (or PV's current preferred) only has changes at Brillant, Mata, Bravo, and Mikey "what's a guy got to do to get a red card" Lopez.

Saw a Mix jersey last night, and made me think of our first starting 11.
We've come a long way.

Josh Williams is the only one still playing in MLS (Columbus)

Villa is in Japan.
Nemec is in Cyprus.
Saunders is without a club.
Jason Hernandez retired.
Chris Wingert retired.
Jeb Brovsky retired.
Medhi Ballouchy retired.
Andrew Jacobson retired.
Mix Diskerud is in Korea.
Ned Grabavoy is retired.

Crazy turnover in just 5 years.
