It's that time of year again!
Announcement of the Survivor roster will wait until after MLS Cup, as the players are currently glued to their TV's watching the MLS playoffs and aren't ready to announce their commitments to Survivor just yet (Even though we ALL know what's more important...).

Get your button-clicking fingers ready, get your impulse votes ready, because it's going to be a spicy one this series!

Will we have our first repeat?

Will we have a fifth-year-in-a-row new winner?

What sort of surprises await us this year?!

Hall of Winners
Keaton Parks (Series 4)
Maxime Chanot (Series 3)
Anton Tinnerholm (Series 2)
Heber (Series 1)

Hello everyone!
Welcome to the 5th Edition of what has become our off-season tradition of blowing off steam kicking off our least or most players from a deserted island! Survivor will begin in a week or two.

After a disappointing (although further than we thought we'd make it) playoff exit and VERY cathartic MLS Cup final, it's time to get the ball rolling.

For this year, same as last year, I'll be using strictly the roster as shown on transfermarkt for the 2024 season, specifically anyone who made at least one appearance in 2024 across all competitions for the main team. In the case of a player leaving mid-year or arriving mid-year, they will still be counted, as long as they made at least one appearance.

Full list of players listed below.
As Survivormaster, I get to choose how each round plays out -- so keep an eye on the rules for each round before voting!
Also, don't forget you can switch your vote whenever you want before the time runs out. Use this to screw over players you don't like, help players you like, whatever you want!
This is, after all, the most important award any NYCFC player can win, and as such we must make certain that our favorite player wins.
...Of course, yeah, that's it.

Had to lookup Elias, subbed in at 90+6 at Atlanta on July 17, 2-2.

usually plays for the IIs, i think? definitely didn't recognize the name but looking him up, his face was instantly familiar after seeing a few II games

Does the Survivor winner have to leave NYCFC within a season and change? How much longer does Keaton have on the Squad?

I think this season is his best shot. Freese is the only really big opposition. Could go either way.

Group A: Thiago Martins - 9 votes (13th place)

So basically number of players remaining now is a starting XI plus one sub left in play. And weirdly it also works out to just about a player in each position for a starting XI (with a few glaring defender issues, which I think is bc people were frustrated with our defense this year, but...)
Freese,
O'toole, Haak, Gray, Ilenic
Keaton, Perea, Maxi
Santi, Martinez, Hannes
w Malachi on the bench
Funny how these things work out. I wonder if this is a subconscious thing, or if it was just a coincidence.

It’s systematic. Mostly we prefer our starters to our bench players. 9 of the 12 are starters. The other three include 1 defender, 1 mid and 1 attacker. That also kind of makes sense as after our starters we have a preferred stand in for each of those areas. It’s not quite perfect. But this seems like a decent bet.

I was thinking potential echo chamber and hive mind. You read enough posts about how a certain player is and you start to believe it as well.
