I've noticed they have a much broader, varied and let's say, quirky, set of off-topic threads. It's just a window into a culture that is so much like ours, yet completely different. These include:

Most of us probably can't tell the difference. I've been asked if I'm American or Canadian when in the UK so it goes both ways.
