OK, so spiderman is gonna be in the Civil War Movies, but with Tom Holden playing Peter Parker. ALSO, Sony is doing more Spierman movies in 2017 staring Tom Holden and Kevin Speige as director.

So is this a reboot, continuation...
Do the Garfield movies exist (will his origin story and plot of the lizard be continued?)

im lost on this subject because i dont know any details

If I remember correctly, the "Spiderman 2017" film as you referred to it is a reboot. It is also somewhat of an integration of Spiderman into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (controlled by Disney/Marvel). Apparently Sony and Disney/Marvel made a deal for the Spiderman character appear in an MCU film produced by Disney/Marvel and there would be some integration of MCU into Sony's Spiderman reboot.

If I think of it, I'll track down a link that explains it.

While its for the best, I t bugs me for them to reboot TAS so soon. Off topic, I noticed Colossus in the Deadpool trailer.

This is why I can't stand Spider-Man. What's this? The third or fourth reboot of the franchise?

I get what you're saying and I agree, although by my count, won't the 2016 Batman v Superman film be the 5th reboot of the Batman franchise?

In all honesty, we need a new spiderman movie. Spiderman 2002 captured New York fantastically, with Peter living in Forest Hills. The new er Spiderman films are just producer/ advertisements orgy of what people think New York is like.

I think the difference is their not starting from the origin story again? I really hope they can just skip to him being Spiderman and not have to do half a movie or more on the origin yet again. The first two Maguire movies were quite good IMO. The third stank and the first Garfield was meh and the second terrible so we're pretty much at 2 good 3 bad Spidey films at this point. Better ration than Fantastic Four or Hulk but pretty bad compared to Iron Man, Cap, X men etc. for what's supposed to be your biggest character.

Its a continuation of Dark Knight and Superman 2012

Actually, it's my understanding that Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy was self-contained. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is a sequel to Man of Steel and yet another iteration of the Batman character unrelated to the Dark Knight trilogy. Whether it's a complete reboot, I do not know. I'm fairly certain I've read that Nolan said the character was unrelated to the Batman character in his films.

But wasnt Bale considered for that role but turned it down

I've never read that. Again, my understanding was that fans of the Dark Knight trilogy were upset that Affleck had been chosen for the role of Bruce Wayne -- not unlike many of the posters of NYCFC Forums re: Jason Kreis as coach -- and preferred to have Bale continue on as Batman, to which Bale responded that he had no intention of playing the character any further.

Two things:
  1. I apologize for inserting the references to the KreisOut crowd.
    I couldn't help myself.
  2. I tend to look for references to back up my assertions.
So, there may be an update to these statements later.

For awhile they considered making the Nolan batman part of the DC Extended Universe (official title) but I think Nolan and or Bale balked at it and in the end they decided to reboot Batman for it.
