Stadium Discussion

Sounds like founding members could actually get bricks. They just won't be at the stadium. Brick discussion starts at about 42:30

Amusing how Sims admits he started saying "brick" because he heard it from fans and he had to be re-educated that they never said brick.
I really should have gotten paid for this. They needed to hire me as the not-a-brick consultant.

Etch the founders names in a stone slab on a freaking wall and be done with it. Then, genius, offer to sell personalized memorial bricks as keepsakes with a little stand and an acrylic shell.

New stadium mascot - Bricky the Founding Member brick!

Email from the club just now says new stadium seat selections will be in July/August of this year. I think my rep had previously told me by early fall.

I am going to miss flipping a Yankees and Mets game on and seeing soccer lines all over the field. It just makes me laugh every time.

dont be so sure, im sure there will be summer tours for the big euro teams that would actually prefere YS/ citi to sell more tickets.

The lines have been rather obvious at Citi Field the last couple of days. So much so that Cohen and Hernandez were discussing them during today's Mets game.

Watching the Mets and the D Backs tonight and Keith Hernandez again makes mention of the lines.
As in "the Diamondbacks right fielder just made the catch in the penalty box."
Cringe. ;)

Just got done with purchasing tickets for LA28 soccer tickets for here in NYC. The pics above show the seating chart and prices for all the group stage matches.

Group stage matches 1 & 2 come with two games on the same ticket. I’m assuming the games will be played back to back. Group stage match 3 is the same price but only includes one game in your ticket. My guess is it’s priced that way since it could have more on the line in the group.

Quarterfinal tickets were already sold out, so I couldn’t check the prices. The Olympics site said this was only drop 1 and future drops might include more tickets for the event your looking for, but nothing guaranteed.

Personally, I kind of panic bought and didn’t really have a solid plan. I mainly wanted quarterfinal tickets, but those were gone right away. After that, I kept going back and forth between group stage match 3 (since it might have everything to play for) and group stage match 2 (since you get two games).

Ended up grabbing two tickets each for group stage matches 2 and 3 (Category C and D respectively). Definitely a bit of buyer’s remorse not just committing to one or the other, but it is what it is now I guess.

Edit: Hope I get a good draw of games!!

I'm hoping to go to LA for a few days during the Olympics and want to check out a couple sports I would never otherwise see. Nice to see prices aren't quite as unreasonable as the World Cup. I have a ticket window next week but not sure whether I want to commit to tickets in LA now for two years from now; who knows where I'll be and whether I'll even be able to make the trip.

Snagged one of those ticket purchase slots that opened up yesterday. I know it’s a little ridiculous but also one of those once-in-a-lifetime things I couldn’t pass up (especially with how the WorldCup has gone). The Olympics have always been a bucket list item for my wife and I, so we went for it. Ended up grabbing two tickets for preliminary soccer matches (both men’s and women’s) at Etihad Stadium, plus Women’s Rugby 7s prelims and a Track & Field mixed finals session. Plan is to catch the soccer here in NY and then fly out to LA and make a full week out of it.

The prices were a little tough to swallow. Swimming and track were by far the most expensive. We really wanted swimming, but tickets were starting around $2,000 each, which was just a bit too much to justify. Considered baseball and basketball but just couldn’t get excited enough to pay those prices. Hoping some other sports open up like Beach Volleyball, equestrian, etc.

I swear, the sports organizers really have only one opinion of Americans - walking cash registers. Those prices, like the World Cup, are insane.

We are a sick society.
