That was two weekends ago . I'm still trying to pick my initial line-up (IT NEEDS TO BE PERFECT) and therefore I'm unable to join an official league at the moment.

Unlimited transfers? First thought is I can spend a lot less time on this. Planning moves weeks in advance to deal with DGWs and bye weeks was where most of the work was. Second thought is luck is probably even more relevant than before.

It was a strategic choice to take a -4 hit doing an extra sub on a DGW or anytime for that matter. So now your handcuffing us even further, unless you want to keep track of -4 hits, but that just becomes a logistical nightmare.

I can do it if we all track our transfers here. Just make a separate standings in Excel, subtract 4 to 8 points on a specific week's score. Not too hard. But unless we want to have separate emails for this league only, then all the other lineups in other leagues will be hindered for some of the players that compete all over the place. I don't think the self-imposed transfer limit will work well. As noted, it absolutely cripples your team in any other competition, and I'm not interested in putting in the work to run two teams under different accounts.

On top of that, the rule and roster other changes make the transfer limit harder than it should be. Last year I managed to build a roster in which I could put a top player on the bench for a week if his team was idle and trot out a decent substitute without always having to use a transfer. There are only 4 subs this year including a goalkeeper, and to build a decent squad you need to make at least 2 of them worthless. I don't think I'd be interested in playing like that. There's just no way to recreate what they took away.

We could make an even higher buy in league. But it's about getting butts in the seats. It's no fun to play in a 5 man league where each person buys in with $500. I think we found the amount that will get us to around 10-20 participants. If we can get enough people to enjoy it this year, raising the stakes a little next season is always on the table. I mean we have to at least account for inflation. Minimum 3% compounded escalations per annum sound fair?
