Atlanta - Postmatch

It took me a while of staring at this tweet to realize it was spoiling the match I'd been avoiding Twitter to keep from spoiling.

LionEDIT: I was asked by Gotham Gator Gotham Gator to remove the quote which provided the tweet, thus preventing anyone's USMNT-France match of being spoiled.

I love Anton...

“I thought in the second half there was one team on the field and for me it’s ridiculous that we don’t win this game,” Tinnerholm said. “I don’t know how many chances we had, we had so many shots and the post and we create so many chances. This is one of our best games this season and now we stand here and I talk to you and we still have one point.”

In an alternate universe, NYCFC gets the penalty kick and one of the shots off the post goes in and they cruise to a 3-1 win. (If the same thing happens against ATL I guarantee they get the PK).

Atlanta fans will go on about how results like this will take them to the Shield, I fully expect Doyle and the other MLS talking heads to go on about how much their focus was evident and how they found a way to “grind” out results which makes ATL a shoo in for the Shield.

Funny you should say that...

Although it’s more about the uncertainty of a new coach and the injury to Herrera that they pick Atl instead of NYCFC

Berget was good today. Don’t get the complaining. He was a solid outlet in the air and helped create real chances.
When you are the 4th largest salary and play a forward position in a pssoession dominant team and offer nothing as a scoring threat, that’s not good enough.

I get where you’re coming from. And a month ago, I would’ve bought it. Now, he done. Starting him over Lewis means you don’t care.

He's a necessary evil with villa on the pitch. Teams can't high press us if he's playing CF.

And you also never know when we might trot out U3.

It’s funny cuz it’s true. You really don’t know when we’ll throw one via lineup with any coach we’ve ever had.

Nope. No he is not. Villa knocked down more headers for him than vice versus based on my viewing. I see Berget as a Viking spike. Essentially, a dildo alight with wastefulness shoved up our collective asses.

Berget and Lewis bring totally different skill sets though. Is it a question of Berget vs Lewis or Medina vs Lewis?
