Maxi does get fouled quite a bit but he also needs to fight through some of them. Couple of times right in front of me last night he was fouled, but we had an advantage if he just played on.

I know he’s small but he gives up on the play way too easy. He’s the anti-Ring. Ring should go down more often

On that play, what a layoff by Taty.

That sequence was our best attacking move of the night. Hebér splits two CBs with a pass, Taty drives into the box and picks a smart pass, and Maxi even gets a dangerous shot away while being collapsed upon by two defenders. Just imagine if Taty had made that layoff to a lethal finisher.

On that play, what a layoff by Taty. I didn't know that he had it in him to make a pass in that particular situation.

It ended up working out (kind of) but i thought he had a better play if he touched it to his left and ripped a shot. rather than turning into traffic and finding Maxi wide for a bad angled shot. (did the keeper get a hand on that?)

Either way i was impressed that he didnt lose the ball in that traffic.

Happy to take this private, before you message me there just look up what Jordan, Syria and Lebanon have done in regard to creating a second class of citizens in relation to Israel. Moreover, Israeli Arabs/Muslims, Christians and Druze (and LGBT) have FULL rights in Israel and hold positions in government etc.. You're creating a false equivalency with refugees who claim they DONT live in Israel and want that land for their own state. In fact Israel gave them their own state in Gaza to start (which is now a Jew free zone) and it became a terrorist state.

Happy to agree that the Palestinians haven’t lived up to their end of the bargain, but neither have the Israelis consistently. Just look at the new settlement being named after Donald Trump.

The penalty was actually placed (though underpowered). His issue was he was very readable on where he was going to place it, so much so that the keeper started moving there well before he even shot. There is an art to taking PKs as well as saving them. Sadly, it doesn't seem like Maxi has that artistic ability.

The xG vs result vs eye test debate would be particularly interesting for this game, because we had three very clear goal opportunities, one converted, the other deflected into the crossbar, and the third the penalty. But we had nothing else. So it looked like a slow, boring game, with very little offensive volume from both teams, in which the home team managed to limit itself to 3 very high xG chances without any half-chances to speak of.

So as a couple of folks pointed out the stats I used above exclude Maxi's shot off the crossbar, which was IMO a very solid chance and I did forget about it. I can't figure out why MLS/Opta exclude it, unless they think it was deflected. But I can't even tell if it was deflected, and if it was, it was not by enough to make it a potential own goal. Weird.

It was a great save of a shot on target that was a great chance, and yet that shot isn't reflected in the stats at MLS, WhoScored or Opta.
