in my opinion, Yedlin is the american Mata. Lots of speed and potential as a wingback. pretty decent going forward but was guaranteed to make defensive blunders that change the game (e.g., bad tackle or more often, forgetting how to defend)

Dude is 28 years old, with 5 1/2 years of Premier League experience.
It's a weird situation with him at Galatasaray. He was the regular right back in all their league games and Europa League games. Then about a month ago, he went to the bench and has only started 1 of the last 6. Now it seems they've let him go for free despite the fact that his contract has another 18 months.

The reason trades are going for more GAM now is that in this new CBA, TAM is being phased out in favor of GAM. So it's impossible to make comparisons because GAM is now worth more than it was last winter.

I can understand TFC fans getting excited over the thought. But they already have pozuelo, who when he's on, is pretty damn good. Insigne is a winger... so where does that leave giovinco? taking pozuelo's spot if he signs?

Gio scored one goal last year in 21 games in Saudi Arabia. He just turned 35. He's not taking anyone's starting spot. Perhaps he could be good depth off the bench. That's what Toronto is figuring out. Would be good to see him back in the league.
