Remember this?

Two words: Obafemi Martins.

Yeah.

Did anyone notice that they don't water the grass over the infield? I think that's a big problem for crossing from that side of the field. After watching two balls soar into the stands this game, it dawned on me that maybe their boots are getting stuck in the dry grass/clay combo.

Positive takeaway: Claudio Reyna in the elevator with me. Gave him a nod and shook his hand on my way out.

The started the game off really great. High energy and attacking and shooting. They just couldn't finish it, which is the problem of this attack. The rest, well the rest all sucked. We suck, plain and simple. There is only so much you can do with this bunch. They need to acquire better players, and they better open up the wallet soon.

The thing is, if we're clinical when we dominate, we don't have to play desperate ball for the last 20 mins when the legs are starting to go.
I agree. Though it's also hard to build a truly strong team that can never come back in the final 30 minutes.

Spot on, and exactly the kind of roster issues and lack of fluidity in play and purpose you'd expect from... an expansion team
exactly right my friend. Before people start to think "screw this team, I am not supporting theM" as I heard some are stating on various sites, this is an EXPANSION TEAM. Given the support that this team has received from the real fans and the fans showing up at the gate, and the atmosphere they have created at YS, once this team starts to win consistently, boy watch out. It will be a joy to attend games, at YS or any other SSS we build, and it will be a blast to watch on tv, like yesterday was. Even Lalas mentioned how great the atmosphere was during the game, especially when Mehdi scored that goal.

My only big problem with Kreis is his commitment to his RSL guys even when they are not producing, especially Grabavoy and Ballouchy. Give credit to Ballouchy for a great finish but there's a reason why he was about to be subbed out at the 55 minute mark. He was basically invisible for 54 minutes. And I've said it before about Grabavoy. He works hard and he doesn't make any egregious mistakes, but he doesn't help you at all either.

I actually have to disagree about Ballouchy's performance from last night. He was coming off for Villa because Kreis wanted to push forward more for an equalizer. Ballouchy then scored and immediately came off. Kreis said after the match that he tried to change the substitution after the goal but it was too late. So Ballouchy comes off and is no longer protecting the backline. The team also pushed up further as was the plan after Villa came on and what happens: burned on the counter twice in 10 minutes and almost a third time when Martins was carded for diving. I think Ballouchy actually played pretty well in Jacobson's role. Just my take.

They did water the grass over the infield. They just don't run the sprinklers as long as those in the outfield.

I swear to all the old deities and the new - if I see someone throw anything at the other players while they're taking a corner kick - I'll kick them in the corner of their legs (that's the crotch)
Exactly right. I hope this stops. This isn't mexico or any other third world country where the fans act uncivilized. Before anyone calls me a racist. I was born in a country that does this type of crap and don't approve when they do it. No matter where you are playing, players should not be subjected to those types of threats.

You are so right! Was there just like every other home match, missed the lack of watering for excitement of the match. TY for pointing this out.

Sad opinion. A non- fan one. S'OK. Go where the sun shines all the time. I will be loyal to our Club.
