To counter all the pessismism that has descended on the NYCFC fanbase, let's discuss the best games or wins in City history.
I say games and not just wins because I rate our August draw against Red Bulls as one of the best games I attended. We came back from 0-1 while playing down a man, then held on for the draw while down two men and absorbing a constant Red Bull attack for 20 minutes. Unfortunately the highlights don't do it justice.
My favorite game of our history is probably the game at Portland in 2016. It was one of the first games in franchise history that made me feel like we had an identity, played with pride, and could be a top team in this league. Two amazing balls by Allen for an assist and later McNamara for the game winning goal. Then, like the Red Bull game, our defense absorbed a relentless late game barrage to hold on to the 2-1 scoreline. Again, the highlights don't do the defensive effort justice, but watch for Hernandez and Saunders reactions at the final whistle.
