My theory is that he gets free swag from sponsors and hasn't figured out laundry yet.
He just hasn't had time to bring it home for his mom to do.

Reminds me of our game in New Jersey after the Connecticut game was announced. They had Whalers mascot there, they played Brass Bonaza, and their tifo was about our stadium searches.
